FANTASTIC HOUSE, EXCELLENT VALUE!

  • 5 of 5
6 of us rented this house for our 5-night holiday in Iceland. We rented cars which made the location idea, just 15 minutes' drive from the centre of Reykjavik. Before our arrival I was nervous, wondering if the property had looked "too good to be true", but this was absolutely not the case. The house exceeded expectations, even with 8 people staying there there would have been plenty of space. The mod-cons in the kitchen were brilliant, and the hot tub and sauna made our stay that little bit extra special. The only constructive criticism I have is that for 6 people we just about managed with the bathroom facilities (1 bathroom with bath/shower and toilet; 1 shower room; 1 toilet upstairs) - with people this might have been a little tricky to manage. However this would not stop me from renting this house again, it really was fantastic, the owner and manager were both very helpful, and we had a wonderful stay here. For the rental price this is a great option for a holiday to Iceland!

FANTASTIC PLACE FOR FRIENDS AND FAMILY TO STAY

  • 5 of 5
Just returned from a fantastic holiday in Iceland made all the better by our stay in this wonderful house. The landlords were very welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed during our stay in this fully equipped house. The rooms are numerous and large and easily accommodated a group of 9 with a large dining table and generous living room and roaring open fire. The kitchen is amazing and has everything you need including an inbuilt coffee machine which makes excellent coffee. Outside was very cold but no one cared because the jaccuzzi and sauna were always hot. Cant wait to go back

FANTASTIC LOCATION WITH GREAT AMENITIES! GREAT FOR FAMILIES AND GROUPS

  • 5 of 5
We are a family of five and rented this house for a week in August. The house is fantastic! It has four bedrooms - larger than European bedrooms, but smaller than North American. It was plenty for us and also had another daybed in the sitting room. The kitchen is very well appointed and there are laundry facilities. The BEST thing is the hot tub which we used often; theres also a sauna but we didn't use it. The one challenge was the bathrooms - there's one large bathroom, a powder room and a shower in the sauna. I'm told that this is pretty generous and I wouldn't find a place this large with more baths but it did mean some scheduling. The nature trails and river in back are beautiful and make for a great outing where you can see horses and people fishing. There are shops very near by(but you do have to note their opening and closing times) and some take away places. Every activity we did picked us up at the house so that wasn't a worry and we did take a cab once, but you do need a car to get downtown. I would very much recommend this property! I also want to thank the agent for recommending our guide, Arnie. Having a great place to stay made us comfortable - Arnie made the trip exceptional. He took us out for two action packed days where we saw tons but in a fun way that we all enjoyed ( including our three twenty and teenaged children who still don't agree on things). Thanks to Arnie, we felt like we really had the opportunity to experience a taste of everything Iceland has to offer - of course the country is too big to see in a week so this could only be a taste. If you don't chose this property, you can find Arnie under Extreme Iceland and I highly recommend that you do! Thanks to the owners, the agent and Arnie for a wonderful holiday!

This was the PERFECT home for our adult family of 8 reunion! Though the house didn't have as many baths as we would have liked, it worked out GREAT for 8 adults! Loved the view, the location, the access to Bonus market, access to highways to all the SW tourist attractions in SW Iceland, the hot tub, the sauna! It made the PERFECT home base for our Iceland trip! GREAT kitchen! Did lots of cooking thanks to the kitchen and close proximity of a grocery store. The walking trails into the open space behind the house made for a delightful walk in the afternoon or after dinner. This property exceeded our expectations!

WONDERFUL AT NEW YEARS

  • 5 of 5
We found this home to be exactly what a group of friends would want for New Years. Beautifully crafted, wonderful open spaces and fully stocked Kitchen, with a starter pack of food to get things going when you arrive. The Coffee machine was the big hit of the house as well as the hot tub. We wouldn't hesitate to book this home again when we come back to Iceland and would highly recommend it to our friends and family. The only caveat I have is that If you rent this home, you likely should have a car rental as well.

MODERN AND ROOMY

  • 5 of 5
I was a little apprehensive renting in the suburbs, but in the end, it was a non-factor. An easy 10 minute drive to everything in Reykjavik coupled with the amenities of the house (loved the built in coffee machine!) made this an excellent choice. A fantastic house with plenty of room for our family of 6. The kids took advantage of the second family room and hot tub downstairs while the adults relaxed upstairs. The large windows have impressive views the river and mountains. Make sure to explore the "backyard" consisting of biking, running trails along the river...and the local thermal pools. Can't wait to return!
