Chrani is on the east side of the Messiania peninsular in the Peloponnese. It is a hidden sort of place easily missed on the road from Kalamata to Koroni but being only half-an-hour away from Kalamata airport and 3 hours from Athens airport. Situated midway between the little seaside town of Petalidi, which has an excellent fresh fish market, and the historic Venetian port of Koroni with its magnificent fortress, Chrani has a few great tavernas and bars, a few of tourist shops, bike and car rental and a couple of mini markets. The village of Petalidi only 15 minutes away has a greater selection of shops and tavernas while Kalamata town 30 minutes away has everything you would expect from a large town including a Lidle supermarket on the road to Chrani. The beach at Chrani is amazing and the water quality out of this world. You can either sunbathe at one of the popular beach bars or keep yourself to yourself on the vast sandy beach.

Villa Fiona is a two storey property with three double bedrooms and two stylish bathrooms. All bedrooms have air-conditioning, fitted cupboards and stunning views. There is a double heightened large open plan living area downstairs which incorporates the lounge, dining area and fully fitted kitchen. This entire living area in surrounded by glass providing truly beautiful views from wherever you stand.

A particular feature of this villa is the expansive terracing proving an 'inside-outside' living feel. The terraces provide plenty of independent space for dining, relaxing in a hammock or sun bathing by the pool. Villa Fiona boasts a beautiful 6x4 meter swimming pool integrated into the terrace with one end disappearing to incredible views of the sea and valley dotted with Cyprus trees. 5 minutes drive down the hillside is the huge Chrani beach with crystal clear waters and stunning views across to the mountains to the Mani peninsular opposite. The beach provides something for everyone. There are free loungers and sun umbrellas available at various café which range from quiet family areas to loud music bars for those looking for a more lively beach experience.

The Villa is situated just above a small hamlet named Kakorema set 5 minutes drive from Chrani and the beautiful beach. The villa is very quiet and private proving a real “escape” feeling. The views during the day and the twinkling lights at night are breathtaking.

Just got back from a lovely couple of weeks in Greece, the first of which we stayed at this villa. The descriptions and photos are very accurate and the photos do not do the view justice. Loved the region - plenty of things to do and see and lovely towns within a short drive. It was quiet - but that's just what we wanted. Koroni and Methoni were particular favourites and my husband loved the Gyro's at Billy's down the road.

Wonderful villa in a beautiful location

Just came back from two weeks in the Peloponese beginning by three days in Athens and eleven days at the villa Fiona. Indeed it takes 4 hours from Athens to reach the villa but the location and views are really amazing.

Very quiet place especially for young children.

Temperature was very high during 3/4 days and we did not have a chance to walk much around the area.
We recommend Koroni and Ithomi (ancient Messini).

Property was clean and furniture as described.
Pool a little bit dangerous for children due to missing "garde corps" in the angle of the property.

Kitchen equipment a little bit poor :
- no toaster, no egg cup, no fruit press, ...

Kitchen doors difficult to open due to dysfunctional system.

Beautiful villa for amazing holidays

You'll find Villa Fiona below the small village Kakorrevma in Greece, above Xranoi, on almost the top of a hill inbetween a nice, quiet area.

To come to the villa you need to drive about 3 and 4 hours from athens to the south. You won't need navigation, because there are not so many streets in greece and everi sign is written in latin letters, too.

At the villa you have an amazing view down to the sea, while sitting outside at the nice pool or having dinner on the terasse. Maybe with the small bbq grill.

The Villa is fully equipped (dishwasher, washing mashine, fridge etc.) and everything works fine. There is also different tableware for max. 6 persons.

There are 2 nice bedrooms on the 1st an one bedroom on the ground floor. The one thing I missed was a kind of bed table and a possibility to put your cloth down - something like a chair... The cupboards are normal sized. Just the mattress was too soft for my taste.

Outside you'll find comfy sunbeds around the pool and a big table with chairs. And a nice hammock.

To enjoy your time while laying around the pool during the day, there is a hifi-system with outside-speakers... Veeeerry nice ;)

To get to the beach, you need to drive the little street with many serpentines down the hill, and in 10 minutes you are at chrani beach. Bring some beach shoes with you - just in case you don't like to walk a small way through stones in the water.

There are many possibilities to buy some good things to eat. For fish or bread you may drive 15 min to Petalidi, for a good butcher (most meat in those supermarkets is ...uhrg) to Aghios Andreas.

The little tavernas around are very small but have best greek food I've ever eaten. And the people are very friendly.

If you like to have relaxed holidays, far away from tourism, hotel-buffets and screaming kids - go there! ;)

So, we had a good time there - thanks to Andrea and Peter for the tipps where to go - and yes, we'll come back some time :)
