Walk into Windows on the Water and immediately relax with the breathtaking views of the Lake of the Ozarks. Undeveloped land situated across from this home provides an unmatched view that will immediately relax you and put you at ease. Stretch out on the adirondack chairs on the deck overlooking the lake, or head down to the martini deck or dock to be closer to the water. Inside you will find a library of books to indulge in as you relax and unwind. Or if cooking is your nitch, set up in the fully equipped kitchen to feed your hungry crew. Make homemade ice cream if that is your fancy!!! A full sized tv, with dvd and sattelite will satisfy the tv watchers in your crew. A game table is ready for puzzles or games which are located in the large chest. This 'great' room will accommodate all ages and interests.
Upstairs contains two bedrooms, one with a queen, the other two singles. Happily decorated, the upstairs also has a full-bath to accommodate both bedrooms. The main floor has a queen size master-suite (complete w/ith full bath and dressing area) also has it's own set of sliding glass doors for private access to the wrap around deck. The lower level has an additional sitting area/tv room great for kids to hang out! There is also a pull out couch in this room! The second bedroom below offers two twin beds. A common bathroom allows for this level to funcion independently! Outside of the lower deck a bunk house is available for additional sleeping. It has an outside shower (for rinsing off from the lake) an inside 1/2 bath and sleeps four people on bunk beds. There is a t.v. in the bunk house as well!
We are located at the 1.9 mile marker on the Gravois Arm which is on the west side of the Lake of the Ozarks. Check out the Buck Creek Store just up the road for gas, beverages, convenience groceries, great meats and fresh hot PIZZA! Laurie, Mo is 4 miles away with everything you need for groceries, gas, fishing supplies, lake wear and restaurants. There is also a movie theater and Indian Hills Golf Course on your way into Laurie. For other adventures by car, head to the East side of the lake in Osage Beach where you'll find an outlet mall, go-karts, more restaurants and any store you need. Closer to home are Captain Ron's, Frankie and Louie's who both have beaches, activities and great food. For spelunking, head to Jacob's Cave which is about 20 minutes the other direction!
You can rent boats and sea doo's to be brought directly to our dock. If this is your choice, head out by water and within 15-20 minutes, you'll be at Coconuts, Jolly Rogers, Dock Knockers, Frogs, Shady Gators, Lazy Gators or Toad Cove. Gas is located at the Gas Hole and Toad Cove!
In the home we furnish beach towels, bed and bath linens, dishes, cookware and appliances. There are some life vests of varying sizes, but to be safe, bring your own. We have some starter supplies such as paper towels, toilet paper, napkins, trash bags, bath soap and dish detergent. Please bring additional supplies and leave our stock replenished. You'll also want your own toiletries, cooler, camera, fishing rods and tackle, sun-screen and binoculars.
There is a dock and launch area just minutes from the house. Fishing is great at the Lake of the Ozarks, so bring your fishing gear!

With 3 children and a host of cousins and close friends, we utilize the lake home as often as we can. As a teacher, I have the luxury of summers off, so we come as often as we can, but want to share our wonderful experiences with others so that they can experience a glimpse of life at the lake!
Mignon or Scott Bergs purchased this house in 2009
This amazing lake home was built for our family as a place to relax, unwind and build memories for our children and their children. We want to share this experience with others so that they may find the joy in making amazing family memories that we have. The location is unrivaled as we have access to restaurants on the water, golf and movies down the road, shopping in Osage Beach, cave exploring all around and fishing, swimming and boating non-stop! The home is large enough to accomodate the whole family.
Experiences like fishing, taking boat rides and swimming with our children are irreplaceable. Waking up each morning, curling up on the adirondack chairs sipping coffee & watching the early fisherman and dedicated water skiiers is something everyone should have the chance to take part in.
Windows on the Water is large enough to accomodate the whole family. Sleeps 12 plus 4 more in the adjacent bunk house (additional fee applies).
In a quick 10-15 minute boat ride you can be at Jolly Roger's, Coconuts, Toad Cove and more for food, fun and adventure!
A 20 minute drive will take you to Jacob's Cave for spelunking, or a 5 min. drive will take you to Indian Rock golf course or the movie theater.
We all had a really great time to enjoy the weather, the home and all of the facilities. We had some difficulty in finding the location but the home was beautiful and we especially enjoyed the deck. The house is high on the hill so there was some difficulty in all of the steps down to the lake and again climbing the hill from the house to the road for the senior citizens with us. Swiming was not available to the children without life jackets.
To be fair, I had never been to Lake of the Ozarks. And also to be fair, most of the "advertised" fun is on the Osage Beach side. However, based on this experience, I'm now a 100% fan of the Laurie area! And this house is exactly what a vacation home should be...beautiful (the house and view) and easy access to stores, golf, cycling, and water sports. There's also a lot of great places to visit nearby like Jacob's Cave and many very interesting small towns. Scott and Mignon are wonderful owners / hosts and I totally recommend them and this home to you.
I don't typically write reviews but rely on them when choosing vacation houses. This is the first time I have been moved to actually write one. I would not recommend this house to any one. It is extremely dated and dirty. The bunk house smelled so bad, our kids wouldn't even walk in. There were dead bugs everywhere, which makes me wonder when the last time it was vacuumed. Every time, my husband sat on his bed the mattress pad and sheet came off, like it was too small for the bed. So he woke laying on a (I don't know how old) mattress… Several of the adults, complained they didn't sleep well bc of the uncomfortable beds. Upon arrival, the dishwasher was full of dirty dishes and the grill had to be completely scrubbed bc of the caked on food. I could go on and on…
On a positive note, it is spacious and had a nice view.
Another wonderful week at Windows on the Water. What a great place to relax, read, enjoy the water and water sports and just get away from it all. The house is beautiful and spacious. Plenty of room for all.
Our stay was wonderful with great views, clean home, and relaxing atmosphere! Owner was very helpful with info. We rode motorcycles in and that was a challenge but managed. The trip was worth it for lake views that were awesome. Would definately go again.
Great family getaway with beautiful view of the lake. Perfect place with big families or multiple families. kids downstairs! Deck is perfect for swimming or fishing. Lots of good restaurants nearby. Can't wait to get back.
Windows on the Water is surrounded by beautiful wooded areas full of wildlife and great walking areas. From the lake we are centrally located to both main-channel and Gravois arm restaurants, bars and attractions. By car, you can reach many restaurants, hiking, theater, golf, caves, fitness center, library, shopping and much more in minutes.
