Our friendly staff awaits you. Casamar is located on the Pacific Coast of Southern Mexico in charming Puerto Escondido. Our hacienda is in the village of Colonia Brisas de Zicatela. Casamar is a boutique oasis of private suites just two short blocks to Zicatela Beach, opened in 2006 to the public. All renovations and new construction completed in 2008. 12 Colonial style furnished suites decorated with colourful Talavera tile, modern kitchen appliances, wireless internet access and air conditioned. Sip a cerveza with fresh limes, poolside or in the Owl's Nest overlooking the tropical gardens. Savor authentic Oaxacan dinners served on your private terrace. Snorkel, surf, boogie board at Puerto's numerous beaches.(beach chairs, umbrellas, Boogie boards, snorkels and fins are available) Cruise nearby lagoons and river delta sanctuaries to observe local and migratory bird species. Stroll though the colourful mercado. Purchase fresh flowers. Enjoy a refreshing change of pace.

El Sol is one of four buildings of the hacienda Casamar which is enclosed by high cement and stone walls. One building, Casarana, serves as the living quarters of the owners, an office and an apartment (Casa Sirena) for the resident manager. El Sol has 6 rental suites on the first and second floors. The third floor is an open area for guests. The Owl's Nest, a place to relax and overlook the gardens, pool, mountains, and sea, is on the fourth floor. Alcatraz is Unit 6, El Sol. It is a 2nd floor two bedroom apt. featuring a pull out sofa in the living room, beautiful Telavera tiled Kitchen and Bathroom, a terrace, and is fully air conditioned. Outside shower. Daily housekeeping and laundry done on request. Fully furnished w/towels, sheets, pots and pans, dishes and silverware. Microwave on request. Large refrigerator with freezer. Plenty of closet and drawer space. Alcatraz was individually furnished and decorated with interesting art work by the locals. Very charming.

Casamar is a hacienda located in a safe, enclosed walled compound in the village of Colonia Brisas de Zicatela, 4 Kms South of Puerto Escondido Centro Bus station. By car, 4 Kms south on Pacific Coast Highway 200. Turn toward the beach at the sign Zicatela Beach. Casamar is less than 1 K on Ave. Brisas Zicatela to Calle. Puebla. 10 min to the Puerto Airport (PXM)- 65 minutes to Huatulco airport (HUX) - Half hour flight to the city of Oaxaca(OAX) - One hour flight to Mexico City (MEX) -395Ks drive North to Acapulco. Steps to La Punta Beach one of the best surfing beaches in the world. Four Km's south to Santa Marie Colotepec river delta and lagoon home to thousands of migratory birds including the rare Spoon-bill Crane. Many local markets and cafes in the village. 10 minutes to the Puerto Mercado and fine restaurants. Waterfalls, Manialtepec Lagoon National Park, Indian Villages festivals, arts and crafts, horseback riding, fishing, rodeos a few minutes from Casamar.

    Monthly rate varies from $1,487 to $2,331 for two guests depending on the season.
    Alcatraz is our 2nd most expensive suite-- but it is the largest. Lower rates for smaller suites are available.
    Generally if you book a month you pay the rate for only three weeks.
    Rate increase for each guest up to the max of five guest.
    Deposits are required to hold a unit. Master Card and Visa accepted
    Discounts are given when reservation with a 50% deposit are made six months in advance.

  • El Sol , Plumeria suite 11 has a monthly rate in the summer of $2,416 for 2 guests

The paroto wood shelves, towel racks, and hooks are all made locally. They are very beautiful, different, interesting and unique. The bathroom has a fan overhead and a window. There is an overhead light as well as a mirror light

  • Each bedroom has a closet and dresser. Master bedroom has a separate wall AC. Beds are of local Parota wood. Beautiful hand made bed spreads. Paintings and wood carvings in the bedrooms as well as the living room. The living room has a large AC that can cool the entire apt. Internet access in the living room as well as wireless. Kitchen features a large window looking out at the gardens and pool. Terrace is next to the front door, located near the kitchen, making serving meals on the terrace easy. All rooms have overhead fans. This unit was completed and furnished in 2007.
