Our friendly staff awaits you. Casamar is located on the Pacific Coast of Southern Mexico in charming Puerto Escondido. Our hacienda is in the village of Colonia Brisas de Zicatela. Casamar is a boutique oasis of private suites just two short blocks to Zicatela Beach, opened in 2006 to the public. All renovations and new construction completed in 2008. 12 Colonial style furnished suites decorated with colourful Talavera tile, modern kitchen appliances, wireless internet access and air conditioned. Sip a cerveza with fresh limes, poolside or in the Owl's Nest overlooking the tropical gardens. Savor authentic Oaxacan dinners served on your private terrace. Snorkel, surf, boogie board at Puerto's numerous beaches.(beach chairs, umbrellas, Boogie boards, snorkels and fins are available) Cruise nearby lagoons and river delta sanctuaries to observe local and migratory bird species. Plumeria is a very large extended Studio with a curtained off sleeping area with two beds and a dressing area with a large wardrobe closet and dresser. Plumeria is on the 3rd floor of La Luna, one of two buildings in the compound with rental units. Plumeria has a spacious living room with two sliding glass doors that open onto a terrace with superb views of the ocean and La Punta. The terrace has a table that will seat 6 under an umbrella and there are also lounge chairs. There is also an outside separate dinning alcove at the front door that overlooks the gardens and pool. The Kitchen is a dream to prepare meals in. Decorated with Telavera tiles and hand crafted Parota wood shelves. Furnished with towels and sheets, dishes and silverware, pots and pans, Micro and oven. There is a large refrigerator with freezer, blender, and toaster -- everything you will need including 5 gal of botlled water to start you off. Over head fans in all spaces --fully air conditioned.

Casamar is a hacienda located in a safe, enclosed walled compound in the village of Colonia Brisas de Zicatela, 4 Kms South of Puerto Escondido Centro Bus station. By car, 4 Kms south on Pacific Coast Highway 200. Turn toward the beach at the sign Zicatela Beach. Casamar is less than 1 K on Ave. Brisas Zicatela to Calle. Puebla. 10 min to the Puerto Airport (PXM)- 65 minutes to Huatulco airport (HUX) - Half hour flight to the city of Oaxaca(OAX) - One hour flight to Mexico City (MEX) -395Ks drive North to Acapulco. Steps to La Punta Beach one of the best surfing beaches in the world. Four Km's south to Santa Marie Colotepec river delta and lagoon home to thousands of migratory birds including the rare Spoon-bill Crane. Many local markets and cafes in the village. 10 minutes to the Puerto Mercado and fine restaurants. Waterfalls, Manialtepec Lagoon National Park, Indian Villages festivals, arts and crafts, horseback riding, fishing, rodeos a few minutes from Casamar.

  • Plumeria has a very nice bathroom. There is a very large tub with shower, tiled in beautiful Talevera tile. There are two windows in the bathroom, overhead lights and an overhead fan. A large sink area with a Talevera wash bowl and a large mirror framed with Talevera tiles. The shelving, towel racks, and towel/robe hooks are all hand made by local artists.

  • The sleeping area which is in the back of the studio has two beds, a double and a single and a large Parota wooden wardrobe and dresser. Over head fans and AC. There is a cross breeze as there is a window on both sides of the studio in the sleeping area. The main sleeping area can be separated from the living room with a curtain. There is also a pull-out sofa bed in the living room for extra sleep space. The bed frames are wooden and made locally. Paintings and wood carvings on the walls are made by local artists. Internet access is available in the living room, and there is also wireless access, so you can sit on the terrace with your laptop. A beautiful Talevera tile mural in the kitchen can be seen from the living room as well. Daily housekeeping makes your bed and cleans your unit -- and will do your dishes. The sleeping area is right next to a large bathroom.

Amazing Mexican Vacation

My husband and I kicked off our honeymoon this summer at beautiful Casamar Hotel in Puerto Escondido. I could not have asked for a more relaxing, comfortable, and pleasurable experience than what we found here at this treasure.

Away from the hustle and bustle of growing Puerto Escondido, yet only a short cab or 'colectivo' ride into town, we spent long, lazy days on our private patio overlooking the ocean and the very close 'La Punta' - the Mexican pipeline. When we did manage to leave the comfort of our apartment (with full bath and kitchen), we were swimming in the pool (the dogs were NOT a problem at all and did not come in the water unless invited), walking the sandy, warm beaches, and eating at the wonderful restaurants lining the coast of Puerto Escondido.

The grounds are absolutely beautiful and peaceful at Casamar, the manager incredibly helpful with anything we needed, and the food was AMAZING - what a treat to get a home cooked meal so far from home! I also appreciated how secure and safe it is with locking gates and a night watch.

I would not only fully recommend Casamar to anyone looking for a peaceful, relaxing vacation, I can't wait to return myself!
