Anniversary Celebration

rebrab Stourbridge
Review Submitted: December 7, 2009 Date of Stay: December 2009
We visited Beech Hill House for a weekend in December 2009 as a party of 20 family and friends to celebrate our silver wedding anniversary.
The house really has the wow factor and we spent the weekend living in 5 star luxury. The beds were huge and very comfortable and the owners have thought of everything in the design of the house. We were met by the owner and given a thorough tour with everything explained to us. The house is even better in reality than it looks in the photographs.
Although the house is secluded, we were much closer to the centre of Alfreton than we thought we would be, so those who wanted to do a bit of Christmas shopping were 5 minutes walk from the shops. We bought a local map and found a lovely walk through the surrounding countryside.
The hot tub was an added touch of luxury and some of the group braved the weather to test it out. The kids loved the games room and there was plenty of information provided in case we wanted activities to keep them occupied.

The house is amazing! all 20 of us had an wonderful time, sipping our wine in the hot tub under the stars, relaxing in the large and sumptuous lounge watching the mega TV - (photo's do not do it justice - the lounge that is).

Amazing kitchen with everything you will need for a large group.

All bedrooms and bathrooms beautiful high spec and comfortable. We would recommend Beech Hill House to anyone wanting a luxury family holiday together. We were aged 82 - 9 and all had fun!

Oh and by the way - great hot tub keeper! =)

Graham's 60th birthday bash

Longers Essex
Review Submitted: April 20, 2009 Date of Stay: April 2009
The house was spacious, tastefully fitted out and very clean. It catered for my party of 11, close family and best friends, with an age group between 3mths up to 61yrs.
It stood nicely away from main town area but close enough to be able walk to shops etc. Nice big table and lots of chairs in a very well fitted kitchen/dining area, this was most enjoyable at breakfast and evening meal times, just to be able to all sit round and enjoy a nice meal and family and friends conversations was a very nice part of the hoiday. The lounge more than catered for our numbers and once again very spacious, comfortable and pleasantly furnished. Everyone slept well in very large comfortable beds and the numerous bath/shower rooms meant that nobody had to wait for bathing oppotunities. The master bedroom with its 2 bathrooms and enormous bed was a extra touch of luxury the house provided.
Externally we had plenty of parking space and the house was fronted by a very pleasant view across the countryside,
To the rear of the property was an adequate sized garden area, which contained large trampoline,(netted), small childs play area and the hot tub, the tub provided a nice evening relaxation after all the daytime sightseeing expeditions, likewise the pool table in the games room
The town of Alfreton, whilst not a picture postcard type of town, has numerous shops and a large Tescos for your provisions and catered for most of our requirements. The local people by and large were pleasant and helpful.
We had a nice round of golf at Shirlands golf club, who were very accomodating, this was located just a few minutes drive from the property, numerous other golf clubs are nearby if time allows.
Dovedale provided us with a good example of how stunning the scenery was in the area and a 40 minute drive saw us enjoying a day at Alton Towers. Derby with it's exellent new shopping centre is just 20 minutes away by car and Chatsworth House with its historical content and lovely gardens is a another delightful day out.
I would be happy to recommend this property to a relations or friends.

Fantastic House

Whirley Northamptonshire
Review Submitted: April 8, 2009 Date of Stay: March 2009
This house ticked all the right boxes for a girly weekend away. 5 star accomodation!

The lounge area was a good size and had sufficient amount of sofas to cope with a large group. The kitchen / dining room was well catered for as well with all the luxury amenities even a wine cooler cabinet which was well used.

The outdoor hot tub was a great and even lit up at night.

The bedrooms were a great size and the house was really flexible on the types of bed set ups in each room which is always handy for a group holiday.

Suffient amount of shower / bathrooms for this size and the master suite was amazing.

You felt at home straight away so you could settle into your holiday.

Its located only a few minutes walk from Alfreton which is handy and the house has lovely outlook from the front across rolling countryside.

All in all had a great weekend away and will certainly be reccomending it to others. Im sure I will be back again at some point.

Thank you!

Review Submitted: March 13, 2009 Date of Stay: March 2009
We have just returned from a weeks break here. There were 13 of us in all, ages ranging from 18yrs - 60yrs. The house is lovely and spacious, the lounge has 5 sofa's and the dining area is more than generous. The hot tub is great so too the trampoline and the pool table was a bonus for rainy days & kept the teenagers happy. The location is fab, having tesco, local shops, restaurants, take away's and ten pin bowling all within walking distance. My father is in a wheelchair and although the property did not say it was disabled friendly, it is manageable. The doorways are plenty wide enough to get the wheelchair though and there's a downstairs toilet, we just carried him upstairs in the evening. The owners make themselves readily available if theres any issues and were there to greet us and run through the itinerary with you. Would certainly highly recommend this property and will be visiting again.
