Fethiye - Olu Deniz area Vacation Rental apartment: Karagozler 1 district

This was our fourth visit to Turkey, having previously stayed in Olu Deniz on a hotel/all-inclusive basis. Julian was very professional and arranged everything so well - we were delivered to the apartment 1 hour 20 minutes after landing at Dalaman airport! He kept in touch during our stay and was a mine of local information. The apartment was lovely, spacious, clean and had all the facilities we needed (Mum, Dad and two teenage daughters). An oven would have been good, but we ate out most of the time as prices were so reasonable. The location was fantastic - a very pleasant 10 minute walk into the town centre, but well worth the 5 lire taxi ride back up the hill. The view from the terrace is stunning and we wished we'd brought some binoculars. There is a nice hotel next door (Hotel Pirlana) and we went for a turkish bath on a wet day, and were told we were welcome to use the hotel facilities, including the lovely pool, whenever we wanted. All the restaurants are of a very high standard - our favourites were the fish market restaurants, Megri, the hotel Ece Saray at the bottom of the hill and Kale Park, which Julian recommended for our daughter's 16th birthday - absolutely breathtaking views. Caught the little water taxi over to Calis Beach, another nice trip well worth taking. Also the Tuesday market in town. Temperature in October went up to about 25 during the day, but we did have some rain. On the whole really pleasant.

Could go on forever, but would recommend a stay in Fethiye to anybody. The Turkish people are so friendly and welcoming. Thanks to all who contributed to a great holiday.
