LOCATION:

Located in the most madrilenian neighbourhood –Chamberí- this studio is really close to everything: 5 min by tube to Puerta del Sol and all the most important art galleries (Museo del Prado, Museo Reina Sofía, Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza, …) and 5 min walk from two of the liveliest parts of the city: Malasaña and Chueca. These two neighbourhoods are the most fashionable areas of the moment, where you can find vintage shops and trendy bars, as well as the typical Spanish tapas bars. Even though the apartment is within walking distance of a very lively area, it is situated in a very quiet street off Fuencarral, and it’s also overlooking an interior patio, which provides an even more peaceful environment. There’s even a very typical garden/square just round the corner (Plaza de Olavide), famous for it’s tapas bars, and also an original version cinema 300 yards away.

You can also take the tube to the “Golden Mile”, where all the most fashionable and luxurious shops are concentrated, and be there within 10 min.

The closest tube station is Quevedo (L2, red line), and also Bilbao (L1, blue line, and L4, brown line) and Iglesia (L1 blue line) stations, both 5 minutes away.

The building is provided with a wheelchair ramp, and also has 2 lifts (width of wheelchairs should be consulted).

AMMENITIES:

The studio is a 28m2 apartment comprising of a living room/bedroom area with a very comfortable double sofa bed, full lenght mirror and a dinning table, and a kitchenette complete with all the kitchenware, sink, electric cooker, breakfast bar, fridge, microwave, Italian coffee maker, kettle and toaster. The bathroom is big compared to the whole apartment, complete with a bath and a shower. The apartment is provided with both linen and towels.

It also includes a potent fan, central heating individually managed, a washing machine, a 32” LED LCD TV with all kinds of ports (you can watch a HD DVD or the photos taken during that day in the TV), a book collection and WiFi internet connection (optic fibre).

About Sara

My dad has been renting this flat for years, but decided to make a refurbishment of the flat a few years ago, and that’s when I got involved. We've been renting it for a long stay, but we've decided to try short stays as I was living in the same building and I could help him with the managing of the reservations.

My dad is a great Madrid’s lover and knows a lot about the city, and he is available to answer any questions you may have -he speaks perfect English, as he studied at the British Institute when he was young. As for me, I used to live in England and now work at the airport, so you won’t have any language problems with us. I'm now living in another town, as I've just been transferred by my company, so my dad will be the one attending you (he also lives close by) and I'm only in charge of the reservations.

Why Sara chose Chamberi

I grew up in this area, so this is the perfect place for me to be. What I like most is that is close to everything (there's even an Original Version cinema three blocks away!) and I can go anywhere just by walking or by tube. Eventhough it's in a very busy area, it's in a street off the main one (Fuencarral), and the flat overlooks an inner patio, so it's really quiet.

What makes this studio unique

I specially like the little square just round the corner (Olavide), with nice terrace-bars to enjoy tapas.

This apartment was exactly what we wanted in Madrid. Clean, good location, and right on the metro line. Sara and her father were great hosts - very responsive, helpful with recommendations, and even left us a welcome basket of fruit for our arrival. The apartment has a washer and laundry soap available which we really appreciated as we stayed here for 7 nights. This is a studio apartment, so it is a smaller space, but was all that we needed for 2 people. Overall a great stay and we would recommend!

This apartment is gorgeous! It's a lovely space and Sara has used the space very well. The area is great and right in the heart of an awesome shopping area. There are also lots of tapas places around that are much cheaper than Sol (the main square) which is only a 10 minute ride on the metro. So really central. We were greeted by Sara's Dad who was lovely and any questions I had Sarah was very quick and helpful to respond. Highly recommend this apartment and madrid - great stay!

Sara's apartment is a real find. It's in a great location, and you can get around by metro or by foot easily. Sara's communication was excellent leading up to and throughout our stay, and she really went the extra mile to make us feel welcome, making restaurant reservations, suggesting places to go out, and even helping us with the grocery shopping (her mom bought us supplies as we arrived late on Christmas Eve and the shops were shut). We were very impressed. Sara's mom and dad were really helpful throughout the whole stay, allowing us to leave our bags in their apartment when we checked out. There are plenty of shops, supermarkets, tapas bars, cinemas etc nearby, but the apartment itself is quiet - an oasis of calm! The studio is well laid out and never felt too small. The bathroom is good, with decent water pressure. The kitchen is well supplied with utensils. The sofa bed is indeed very large and comfortable. Sara has decorated the studio tastefully and we felt lucky to have such a pleasant home base for our 5 day stay.

I had a very nice stay at Sara´s studio. I didn´t meet her personally but her dad José met with me and was very nice and helpful. My transaction with Sara by email was smooth, she replied quickly and was flexible with check in and check out time. The area is great, different metro lines closeby, a supermarket around the corner, and a short walk to the centre and loads of shops, cafés and restaurants nearby, the studio is also located on a quiet street. All in all, great stay!
