Lovely big house, at the dunes, near beach and village

Can't guarantee perfect sunny weather like we had all week, but if not, the house would be very comfortable to spend more time in, as it's very spacious & comfortable downstairs and in the bedrooms. The kitchen was well equipped and it was nice to have the separate dining area.
We were 2 couples, so after tossing a coin, someone had to have the second bedroom on the 3rd floor (us). It was large and comfortable, but if there was one criticism it was decorated & furnished very much as a child's bedroom. The downstairs room at the front with the veranda would be a perfectly comfortable double bedroom, and is decorated in a more "adult fashion" if only it had proper twin beds, not just the pull out - something maybe to consider? All in all though we throughly enjoyed our holiday here and if travelling with children, then our comments are not really relevant!

We are a family of 4 with 2 very young children and the house was perfect for us! It was very open and the outside area was totally enclosed so it was safe for our little ones to run around. When the weather is warmer the outside area would be fantastic to spend time in! The kitchen is wonderful with a full-sized refridge and freezer w/ice-maker and dishwasher. Master bath is modern with nice sized shower, large single sink, and jetted tub. Second bath has not been updated yet (work in progress) but was clean and very usable. House can easily sleep 6 (2 queen beds and a day bed w/trundle) and there is lots of storage space. Be aware that the house is on three floors and the steps are pretty steep. We were worried at first with our little ones (2 & 3) but they easily got the hang of them and our worries were gone. Might be difficult for seniors or anyone with knee or other type of health problems. Parking for more than one car available. Location is great...across the street from the dunes, 5-8 minute walk to downtown, and the beach. 40 minutes to Zaanse Schans, 25 minutes to Haarlem, and 20 minutes to Keukenhof. No iron or ironing board (that we found) and the grill is a very tiny habachi. Bike rental down the street and a race track near by. There was a nice TV in each room and the living room had a DVD player and SAT cable. My husband LOVED the place and we would definitely stay there again and can easily recommend it.
