Owners built the home when they married and combined families. They raised four children in the home and now are empty nesters. They enjoy the city life and returning 'home' to their relaxing vacation villa.

Kim Johns purchased this estate in 1994

Our Temecula Estate was built as our home to enjoy and raise our family. The area is beautiful, and serene with mountain and valley views. The wineries are close by, Old Town is charming and the nights are peaceful.

This home provides beautiful sunrises and sunsets over the mountains. Early morning birds awaken you with hot air balloons flying overhead. Afternoons are perfect to enjoy the infinity edge pool, and a family barbeque in the outdoor kitchen. As the sun sets, you can enjoy sitting in the pool house and enjoy shade, or sit under the decking to watch the sun set. In addition, the property is located within easy driving distance of all major amusement parks in Southern California allowing for easy day trips. The beach and the mountains are just an hour drive away.

GIRL'S WEEKEND

Girl's Weekend

Overall the home was beautiful and spacious, however the decor was not to my liking. The outside landscaping around the property had not been maintained properly (e.g. trash behind the the outdoor kitchen that had been sitting for a while; fountain in the driveway had green water; the Gazebo and bridge was in poor shape and dead shrubbery around the perimeter of the property). There was a bee hive above the entrance of the property and although a bee keeper was called out, they left dead bees on the porch and surrounding area which made it impossible for us to enter and exit out of the front door. I know TVs are not used often during a vacation, however it would have been nice to have one in the bedrooms. There was only one TV in the entire house, but it was in the family room.

Owner's Response: We appreciate you choosing our Temecula Wine Country home. Our home was professionally decorated on the lower level with custom furnishings and décor that reflects a Southern charm. Our guests enjoy the outside amenities and spaciousness for their family gatherings, ie. pool house with dining and seating options, outdoor kitchen, infinity edge pool, and seating for all. The partial acreage behind the pool house is used to store maintenance and other items. In compliance with the local water restrictions and in consideration of the water crisis in California, we have turned off our water fountain and the front pond in the vineyard. The perimeter of our property is planted with low maintenance shrubbery while the front yard is our personal vineyard. With vines, bees are a natural occurrence. We were unaware that the beekeeper left residual bees after their visit; otherwise we would have had someone return to remediate. It is our goal to offer a spacious, enjoyable, and affordable home for families, and friends to gather together to make special memories. Thank you for choosing our home!

GREAT VIEWS- LARGE HOUSE

  • 5 of 5
We rented the house for a 3-day holiday get away/staycation traveling from San Diego. The house was great for many reasons:
1. location to the wineries (yet not far off the highway)
2. views from the pool area
3. gorgeous infinity pool
4. plenty of space/rooms and layout of house was wonderful for a large group
5. excellent features- house even provided shampoo, conditioner, etc. (most rentals do not)
6. free internet
7. very large kitchen- easy for everyone to help cook together
Overall, fantastic time in Temecula and outstanding views from the pool area.

Great experience!!

GREAT GOLF WEEK

  • 5 of 5
This is the second year in a row that we have stayed at this house. It works out great for 8 guys on a golf outing (each getting his own bed, with one airbed brought along) and is a perfect home base for relaxing in the morning, watching the sun rise and the balloons going by. After our golf rounds the local wineries are very close to the house and made for an enjoyable afternoon. The kitchen is well stocked and made for a few great home cooked meals. The evenings were spent relaxing on the nice patio with the infinity pool looking out over the valley. The house is well maintained and plenty of space for everyone . Would recommend this house for anyone and we will definitely be back.

CHRISTINE

We spent a long weekend in Temecula for my son's wedding. Twelve of our family members stayed here and had a wonderful time. When we first arrived, one of our guests saw that one of the toilet seats was broken. I called Stephanie and she was there in no time with new seat. Property accommodated 12 very easily, and kitchen was equipped with everything you could possibly need. Hot tub was great with beautiful views. I would definitely recommend this property. Owners and Stephanie very helpful.

COMFORT, CALM, AND VIEWS OF THE VINEYARDS!

  • 5 of 5
I stayed here the weekend of 12/14/12-12/17/2012 as part of a family get-together weekend. I arrived as it was getting dark after a 6 hour drive from my home but upon entering I did not feel like I was at a vacation rental. The house had a very "homey" feel, the kitchen had full amenities for a large group, and overall the house was very well stocked with all the things you are used to at home (dishes, towels, TV, DVD, Cable, etc). The next morning I was able to fully appreciate my favorite part of the property: the beauty of the view from the back patio! . The back patio overlooks an infinity pool with a Jacuzzi, and further past that are amazing views of the canyon and vineyards. The property the house sits on is fairly large and far enough away from other homes to give you a sense of privacy. The privacy combined with the views enables a sense of serenity when relaxing out back. Off to the side of the patio is another covered/enclosed patio area (pool house) with seating to relax and take in other views or just talk/visit with someone without disturbing those in the pool or those relaxing on the back patio. A short drive from the house there are an abundance of wineries to see and after a full day of utilizing the house we started the next day with some tours and tastings (with a designated driver, of course). Overall it was a great weekend, a large part because of where we stayed. I would definitely come back and recommend staying here.

GREAT HOUSE FOR A FAMILY GET TOGETHER!

  • 5 of 5
The house has a great set up with bathrooms between each bedroom, a large formal dining room with a wonderful kitchen. The master suite has a gorgeous view of the countryside from the bed, and easy access to the infinity pool and spa.
The house is located right in the heart of the wineries and we did manage to go to 3. With every store you can imagine within a 10 min drive, and Old Town Temecula close by, there is no need to go far to find something to do.
Flying into San Diego and renting a car was the easiest way for us to get to Temecula from Denver, CO...nice drive and easy to find in daylight. It is so quiet and with few streetlights I recommend getting there before sundown.
I highly recommend staying here!
