Further information: Originally an embassador catered here for his family and his guests when he was on vacations. The 'local pub' is 2 miles up the hill. The next village is Cahirciveen (15 km). The beach is only about 1 km away and in the summer time you will always be able to fetch some fresh fish when the boats come back in again. That is if you do not want to go angling yourself. One can see why the embassador had his house built at a spot like this.
