Villetta Cerre is a large country house split into two apartments (owners in residence) set in over 5 acres of meadow and woodland (in a national park) with spectacular views. The two-bedroom rental property will sleep 4- 6 people in comfortable, stylish surroundings. A pool is available (middle June - September) - 5m diam. and 1.5m deep (shared with the family). We are conveniently located for a number of villages with the usual facilities - shops, bars and restaurants. There are outdoor swimming pools in Toano (10mins) and Villa Minnozzo (20mins). For children or brave adults the Cerwood Adventure Park (40 min) provides challenging fun. The nearest ski centre is Febbio (35 mins). Wildlife, in the form of deer and birds of prey, are in abundance and fruit and nuts are there for the picking depending on the season. There is a private outdoor seating area which, in sunshine or shade provides a lovely spot for an al fresco aperitivo. Parking.A venue for all seasons.

Notes: The dining-kitchen is fully fitted with generous storage and work surfaces. It also benefits from having a wood-burning stove. A Welcome Pack containing a complimentary bottle of locally produced wine awaits you on your arrival. Although there is a first class restaurant and bar within walking distance we can provide meals by prior arrangement. This is our first year providing holiday accommodation in Italy - we do, however, have over 10 years experience of offering a similar service successfully in central France to clients from around the world.

Cuisine and Local Produce: As the gastronomic centre of Italy Emilia-Romagna is very proud of its culinary prowess (Parma Ham, Parmesan Cheese, Balsamic Vinegar, a variety of quality Wines,etc) as the many and varied local dishes attest. There are many fine welcoming restaurants in the area to cater for all budgets and trips can be organized round cheese and vinegar making factories.Balsamic Vinegar barrels have been inherited in wills on a par with other precious family objects! Eating out here is a serious business but enjoyable at the same time.

Skiing: The province of Reggio - Emilia boasts 6 ski resorts all within the Gigante National Park.Our nearest is at Febbio, 35 mins. drive away which also offers snow-boarding and cross-country opportunities.Lifts take you to over 2000m on the highest mountain in the Apennines.There are artificial snow machines, 3 chair lifts, 3 cable lifts and 2 ski schools for different skills.There are 12 km of ski runs and 5 km for cross country enthusiasts.For those staying behind there are pleasant restaurants and excellent clearly marked walks.We can arrange guided walks for anyone staying with us (by arrangement) .

The National Park and Bismantova: The bulk of the area is set in the National Park an area of conserved natural beauty and an important feature of that is Pietra di Bismantova - a large, raised sandstone plateau of over 1000m , accessed by 2 paths and many rock climbs for the more adventurous.A striking symbol of our locality, Bismantova seems to be visible 'round every corner' - it certainly is from Villetta Cerre together with the ancient castle at Carpinetti which is also clearly in view.

Suberb accomodation, very clean and wanted for nothing during our stay. Pauline and Mike made us very welcome and we left feeling as though we had made new friends. Stunning scenery with views of local wildlife including birds of prey and wild running deer. Good restaurant 15 mins walk but found it to be a bit expensive. Others close by only 5 mins drive. A bit remote but great for those who enjoy walking and the outdoor life in general. Small swimming pool at rear of property, ideal for children. Would not hesitate to recommend to those who simply want a relaxing holiday.

Beautiful apartment in stunning location.

We have just returned from 10 very relaxing/peaceful days in this apartment. It is set in a stunning location with views over the mountains. The apartment is very spacious, comfortable and equipped with everything you may need. There are delightful towns close with restaurants and bars if you fancy a day without cooking. My 3 year old loved the open pool in Toano closeby and the pool at the apartment made the hours pass by while we relaxed and enjoyed the views. There is an adventure park close by that worked a few muscles I forgot I had if you want a day out.

Overall we had a great time and may even try to get back during the winter months to have a go at the local skiing.

In a beautiful location the apartment lived up to its promise. Excellent scenery, with the possibility to do lots of walking and a very good restaurant within easy reach. We were made very welcome.
