Welcome to SIDNEY MEWS, a vacation rental accommodation in the heart of beautiful Sidney-by-the–Sea on Vancouver Island, BC. SIDNEY MEWS is a one bedroom, ground floor, fully equipped newly remodeled patio suite, located on a quiet street one block from the waterfront promenade, and one block from Beacon Avenue, the town’s main shopping street. If this is your first visit to Sidney-by-the-Sea, you will be delighted to discover a quaint west coast seaside town with much to see and do. Experience restaurants offering the gambit of culinary delights, boutique shops of every description, book stores, galleries, theater, spas, local museums, ocean adventure tours and a not-to-be-missed west coast aquarium centre, all within steps of your accommodation. Your suite features local and native west coast art for your enjoyment.
This spacious 660 sq ft vacation rental is a short drive to local amenities and tourist attractions, such as, the world famous Butchart Gardens (15min), local wineries, seasonal markets, the Panorama Recreation Centre with public swimming pool and workout facilites, and just 30min to wonderful downtown Victoria. Vehicle access is quick and easy to the Victoria Airport (5min), Swartz Bay ferry terminal serving Vancouver and the Gulf Islands (10min), and the Black Ball ferry to and from Port Angeles, WA, USA (30min). The Anacortes Wa, USA Ferry terminal is within walking distance of SIDNEY MEWS.
Through your private side entry to SIDNEY MEWS, you will discover a tranquil east facing courtyard patio with a soothing water pond and fountain exclusively for our guests. Visible through your patio doors, your furnished outdoor sitting and dining area invites you to relax on your vacation. Enjoy alfresco dining accompanied by the enchanting music of gurgling water. On your own gas BBQ, prepare west coast delicacies to be savoured in the romantic glow of garden candle light.
This well appointed recently renovated unit has a fully-equipped kitchen, complete with all cooking amenities for your needs: granite counters, contemporary chandelier, full-size stainless steel stove and fridge, microwave, dishwasher, coffee-maker, pots, stem ware, flatware, dishes, and various small appliances. For your convenence, there is also a roller shopping cart to transport your groceries with ease. Three grocery shopping options are available within a short walking distance, so use of a car is optional.
In your bedroom, separate from the living area, is a high quality queen-size pillow top bed. The room is decorated in serene dove gray tones with west coast charm, featuring 400 count linens and a second TV over an electric fireplace for cozy relaxing ambience and optional heat in the winter months. A large closet provides good storage and includes two plush white terry bath robes. A large picture window overlooks the serenity of the water pond. There is a full three-piece washroom, with new heated floor tiles, modern toilet, new light fixtures and with a full size tub and rain head shower fixture with an optional hand held variable water pulse selection wand. The single sink features a full-size mirror, granite counter tops, plush white towels, hairdryer and first aid kit. This unit also has a shared laundry with high efficiency front loading washer/dryer, iron and ironing board and a clothes steamer for those quick touch ups.
Your main living area features a new flat screen HD TV, with HD Cable Channels, a DVD/Blue ray player, Ipod dock and access to Wi Fi internet. There is another cosy electric fireplace with a very comfortable leather lazy boy recliner chair to enjoy watching movies, TV programs or just unwinding with a good book. The couch in front of the fireplace is a flip coach that converts into an extra sleeping area for one person.
We also provide for your use, two folding beach chairs, beach towels and a picnic kit, ready for you to add your favourite foods from the local grocery store 5 minutes walking distance away. Access to beach front picnic locations and walking paths is within one block. A much more expansive beach is 3 km to the south of Sidney.
For your convenience, we provide a complimentary dedicated Parking Pass at a well lit outdoor parking lot 2 doors down the street.
We are the owners of this property and we reside on the upper two floors of this dwelling. We will try to make this your home away from home. Slow down, unwind, with the gentle breezes. Enjoy the fresh ocean air, the call of the sea gulls as you enjoy your west coast island time.

We have lived on the Saanich Peninsula Since 1999 and have recently moved to Sidney to experience it's many charms. Both Barb and Mike can help you find whatever you are looking for in the area and are always glad to share Sidney and the Saanich Pennisula's many attractions! This area is truely a wonderful treasure on the west coast.
We both have FRENCH as a second language and welcome the opportunity to practice speaking it whenever we can!

We first relocated to Brentwood Bay on Vancouver Island from Ottawa, ON in 1999 with the intention of giving our three boys a different living experience in another part of Canada. We’ve never turned back. The West Coast life style is the perfect fit for our family. As the boys grew up and started moving out, we decided to relocate from our suburban home in Brentwood to the vibrant small coastal town of Sidney. This wonderful friendly sea side town offers everything at your finger tips. We are truly enjoying the life style change and the absolute convenience this location provides us and for the many guests that we are hosting here at Sidney Mews. Lovely accommodation! Nicely furnished and very well equipped. Well located in Sidney for easy walking along the ocean front and very close to the main street in town. Barb was easily accessible and a pleasure to meet. Would stay again in a heartbeat!
Lovely accommodation and very comfortable. Great number of items in the kitchen. Only issue was the noise from the fridge/freezer very noticeable in the night. Nice touches like flowers, fruit and croissants on arrival as well as milk. Great location as we love walking and could walk round Sidney very easily.
This condo is so spotlessly clean and has everything you could want for cooking big meals, right down to potato peeler. Set in a great location, close to the ocean and shops. Barb was so kind. We were treated to beautiful flowers to grace the kitchen table along with fresh fruit and croissants, coffee and cream. I would love to stay there again and would suggest this homes to anyone looking for a great vacation stay. You won't be disappointed.
Our stay at Sidney Mews was exceptional. The location was perfect for walking to the waterfront and to down-town Sydney. The basement suite was furnished beautifully and was very clean. The Queen Bed slept wonderfully and the kitchen had all the supplies a person needs. The hosts were very hospitable and the fresh flowers and "turtles" were a very nice touch. The only issue we had was hearing the foot traffic from upstairs during the hours of 6-9 pm. Other than this we highly recommend the Sydney Mews.
I needed a quiet place to regroup after being widowed. This was the perfect spot. Very nice accommodations. I was greeted warmly, and found fruit, flowers and a bit of candy waiting for me. I was able to sit outdoors in a comfortable setting with a fountain bubbling behind me and flowers in the garden. All in all it met my expectations and then some. Wonderful owners!
I am a former resident of Sidney. On a return visit, my wife and I and our son stayed for a week at Sidney Mews in July, 2014. This one bedroom apartment is spacious, beautifully appointed and spotlessly clean. Our host Barbara was very friendly, kind and considerate, and provided excellent advice throughout our stay. Sidney Mews is on a quiet street and is just a five minute walk to Sidney Pier, the Marina, a Supermarket, Starbucks, and the many other shops on Beacon Avenue, the main street in Sidney. We enjoyed the walks along the Sidney waterfront paths, coffee outdoors each morning at Sidney Pier, and excellent waterfront dining, as well as walking in Sidney's many parks. The Town of Sidney maintains wonderful flower boxes along the main streets and beautiful flower beds in the parks. We recommend Sidney Mews to other guests, and hope that you enjoy your stay as much as we did.
Great Location, one block off the water, lots of waterfront walking to do. Location includes on premise fees for service Reflexolgist-Yoga instructor with an Infrared Sauna and other spa type services. Steps away from your suite. A nice extra treat!
