Wonderful apartment in the heart of Madrid

This apartment is absolutely excellent. The furnishings are comfortable, clean, and attractive, with all the amenities (washing machine/WiFi/cable TV/AC.) The location is the best, in the heart of the literary district, with many great tapas bars/restaurants in the neighborhood. It was in easy walking distance to the Prado and the other museums to the east, and the Plaza Major and Palace to the west. We did not even need to get a transit pass. The windows had sound-proofing blinds, so, despite the lively neighborhood, the apartment was quiet, with only occasional rhythmic beats (not sounds) from the flamenco bar next door. The manager Sol was very helpful, with excellent restaurant and sight-seeing suggestions. The only qualification is that it is on the 2nd floor (3rd level), in an old building with no elevator, so the apartment would not be good for anyone with physical limitations. We loved our stay here.
