26 is a superbly renovated set of stone houses built around a courtyard in a peaceful park-like garden in the wine village of St Aubin, set amongst some of the most famous vineyards in France and the world. Superbly renovated and decorated the property has all the charming ambiance of yesterday combined with all the conveniences of today. The beautiful beamed ceilings and stone floors and walls are complimented by totally modern appliances and your every requirement has been considered and catered for. Enjoy BBQing and al fresco dining on the gravelled terrace overlooking the vines at sunset, or relax in the stunning vaulted 'cave' with a glass of the finest wine the region has to offer. This is a superb location from which to base a tour of all of the Cote d'Or and Burgundy or to simply enjoy a relaxing French country holiday.

A wonderful stone 'maison de vigneron', dating back to the 17th century, beautifully renovated. 4 bedrooms with air conditioning/central heating. The vast master bedroom has an incredible high ceiling with 'charpente apparente' beams. There are two further luxuriously comfortable bedrooms with beamed ceilings and a 4th bedroom area which can also be used as a sitting area for the 3rd bedroom. The main salon (with underfloor heating) has a modern galley-kitchen in one corner (a Lacanche stove with 3 separate ovens and gas hobs, and stainless steel appliances), dining table with seating for 8 and a sitting area around the fireplace with tv and dvd player with sofas and chairs. The bathrooms are completely modern with Italian showers - the master bathroom also has a huge bath. The laundry is equipped with Miele machines. The romantic splendour of ancient stone walls and floors and old oak beams combines with modern touches to create a luxurious space for a wonderful holiday

Located in St Aubin, nestled among some of the most famous vineyards in France, this charming property offers the ideal place from which to explore all that Burgundy has to offer. The vineyards, restaurants and bars of Puligny Montrachet, Chassagne Montrachet and Meursault are just a few minutes by bike (or car) on the paths through the vineyards. Historic Beaune with its Hospice and quaint market is a mere 10 minutes by car. Wonderful walking paths through the famous vineyards and the surrounding countryside for avid ramblers or those who just like to wander a bit and enjoy a picnic lunch in the sunshine. Explore the historical chateaux of the Burgundy region, play golf around the area (several golf courses within an easy drive), float gently down the nearby canals, take to the skies in a hot air balloon - just a few of the many pastimes on offer in this wonderful region of France.

  • NB; These rates are for the entire property. If you wish to rent only the main house (4 bedrooms 2.5 bathrooms, sleeps up to 8) a small discount on the rate can be discussed. The Stables and Summerkitchen would not be rented out to other parties in this case. Rental of the main house and the Stables would constitute a rental of the entire property.
    A refundable security deposit of 1000 euros is payable prior to arrival.
    30% deposit confirms a reservation.
    Balance is payable 8 weeks before arrival.
  • Some meals can be arranged and we can organise groceries to be in the house on your arrival. Please discuss with the owner. We can help with all aspects of your holiday - tours etc - please speak to the owner
  • The rental charge includes all outgoings (reasonable usage of electricity, water, heating oil, logs for fire). All fresh linens are supplied on arrival and beds will be made up ready for you on the day your holiday starts.

Notes: The wonderful sunbathed terrace with its stone table is perfect for lunch or dinner (Weber gas fired BBQ). There is a petanque set for lively competitions for the more energetic. Picnics can be taken further out in the grounds, under the shade of the old walnut and oak trees. The 'cave' (or wine cellar) in the property is a fantastic experience - a huge wooden chateau table which seats up to 12 people on bench seating - it is a wonderful place to retreat to on a warm summer evening to taste some of the local product and to enjoy a relaxed meal around the table bathed in candlelight. We have broadband access at 26, and there is satellite television with BBC, ITV, news, films, radio, children's channels (as well as some French tv channels). The master bedroom has tv and dvd player, the salon has tv and dvd player. The Stables and the Summer Kitchen both have cable tv and dvd player. The accommodations all feature some stairs.

Local village information: St Aubin is situated just 5km from the village of Puligny Montrachet where you will find a bakery, village shop, Post Office restaurants, cafes and bars. The baker's van visits St Aubin every morning with delicious fresh bread, croissants, patisseries etc. The larger town of Chagny is situated 7km away and there you have everything possible from supermarket to Michelin starred restaurant, pharmacies, doctors, newsagents, patisserie and a great Sunday morning market - all the commerce of a small town. Beaune, at 19km, offers everything imaginable, including a wonderfully quaint Saturday morning market which is a must-visit.

Access: TGV from Paris is just 1 hr 18 minutes to Le Creusot Montceau and then 45 minutes by car to St Aubin (rental car agencies at the station). Or you can come by TGV via Dijon (1 hr 40 mins) and change to the TER for a quick 20 minute ride to Beaune where you can collect your rental car. Lyon airport is around 1 hr 30 minutes by car. Geneva airport is around 2 hrs 30 minutes drive. Dijon airport is around 45 minutes drive.
