We purchased this home because we fell in love with the natural beauty of St. John. We fell in love all over when we found this picture-perfect spot on the quiet side of the island. It is the best of both worlds -- away from it all, yet only a scenic 15-minute drive to the restaurants and shops in Coral Bay. We love having beautiful snorkeling beaches just minutes from our front door, but without having to share it with a lot of people.

The pictures hopefully tell the story. Natural beauty, serenity and PRIVACY, PRIVACY, PRIVACY.
Beautiful sunrises, spectacular views and lovely breezes -- just what you expect from a Caribbean vacation.
We stayed at Milk Moon for two weeks. The pictures and description are spot on. We found Milk Moon very clean. They had everything that we may have needed. The view is absolutely breathtaking. From beautiful sunrises to a two minute walk down the driveway to see a beautiful sunset. If your looking for a very quiet and very relaxing place to go this is your place. Coral Bay is 15 minutes away and Cruz Bay 40. Catherine was very easy to get along with and very accommodating. The pool temperature was very warm and the breezes were everything. We would go back in a heartbeat!
This was our 6th trip to St John. We started the trip out staying at a Villa near Cruz Bay and moved to Milk Moon for 4 more days. All I can say is I sure wish all 11 days were at Milk Moon. The home is on the quiet east end of St John .It however was easily accessed, unlike
some other homes we have rented. The pool was a perfect temperature and the home was nicely decorated. The caretakers, Catherine and Clark do a wonderful job of keeping Milk Moon spotless. They quickly answered any question that came up. I highly recommend Milk
Moon, we will be back. Oh forgot to mention , the view is phenomenal.
My wife and I stayed at Milk Moon the first week of March. The view off the deck is awesome as is the pool and pretty much the whole setting. There is an air conditioner in the bedroom which we never turned on because we enjoyed sleeping with the windows open and the nice breeze. Clark,Kathy and David were all very helpful in making sure we got there okay by meeting us at the ferry dock with the rental jeep, a quick stop for some groceries in Cruz Bay and then an escort to Milk Moon. They also answered any questions we had. The cottage has everything you need. If you are looking for a place that is convenient to Cruz Bay this is NOT the place for you. If you are looking for a place on the quiet east side of the island this is the spot. The first half of the day on the deck/pool is outstanding as it faces east. There is only one neighbor and he is a fair distance away so it is very private and secluded. Our only complaint was we had to leave! We wish we were still there.
My wife and I had a wonderful time at Milk Moon cottage. The view is as good as they get; pictures really don't do it justice. Our hosts were knowledgable, helpful, and quite courteous, pointing out the good places to eat in town and answering our questions. The house is very nice and tidy, and we enjoyed the pool. This part of the island is very quiet and calm; perfect for those wanting a complete escape from the city. Highly recommended.
What a privilege to stay at Milk Moon Cottage on the East End. My husband and I had spent the week before in a larger villa in Coral Bay with family. The two of us moved on to Milk Moon on Saturday, June 15, 2013 and it was almost like traveling to another island. Milk Moon is literally located at the end of the island (beyond Sloop Jones). The peace and privacy are beyond compare.
This one bedroom, one bath cottage was perfect for a couple. The kitchen is well equipped, the bathroom functional, the queen bed quite comfortable and the entire cottage was spotless. Even though the villa is small compared to others we have rented, the décor and ambience is lovely. There is just enough visual interest, local art, quality furnishings and upscale construction details to make the interior beyond basic and yet not overdone as to detract from the unbelievable views of Norman and Peter islands as well as the well cared for grounds. Milk Moon does not have a washer and dryer available nor a dishwasher. We typically hand wash most of our dishes in villas to save water but we did miss the convenience of a washer and dryer as it dictated we bring more clothes than we typically pack for St. John.
The pool is decked in native stone and extremely private. There is also an equally private outdoor shower that is a great alternative to the indoor bathroom. The balcony across the back of the house affords absolutely amazing views and the breezes are non-stop. On some mornings, the breeze was so strong we retreated to the dining table in the front garden which is a perfect breakfast spot. Milk moon shares a gate/driveway with another home occupied by locals above it however, we always felt as if we were the only ones on the island.
Catherine, the house manager, was extremely flexible with us as far as arrival and departure times. I cannot say enough about how well the house is maintained. Of all the homes we have rented on the island, Milk Moon is now our favorite and one that we feel a spiritual connection to. I am hopeful it will stay on the rental market (it is up for sale presently) because I have every intention of returning every year possible in the future.
My wife and I just returned from a ten night stay at Milk Moon Cottage. We chose Milk Moon Cottage because it was recommended to us by the property manager, Cathy Noonan and her husband Clark, whom we had rented another cottage from two years ago. Cathy and Clark seem to have everything so organized and the arragements were once again seamless from start to finish.
The pictures on this website show exactly what you will get at Milkmoon Cottage - a very nice, well equipped house with one of the greatest views anywhere on St. John. The private pool, the view, and the surrounding landscape are so nice that you will be tempted to just stay put and enjoy.
A constant tradewind breeze keeps the house naturally cool so we never used the air conditioner. You will need to rent a jeep to get around but it is only a 20 minute drive to Coral Bay or to the National Park Beaches.
We would like to thank Cathy and Clark for helping to make this a great vacation and we highly recommend Milk Moon Cottage.
