This beautiful house, located on a quiet, tree lined street close to downtown San Rafael, is available for both short term (two night minimum) or long term (month to month) rental. Perfect for families touring Northern California, or those needing a base while doing business in the Bay Area or seeking more permanent housing. Centrally located near the Hwy 101 corridor, the house provides easy access to Bay Area destinations: half hour drive to Sonoma and Napa Wine Country, San Francisco, East Bay and coastal beaches… 15 minute drive to spectacular Mt. Tam hiking and biking trails… 3-4 hours to Lake Tahoe skiing and water sports. Lots of great shops and restaurants are just a few blocks away.
Just a short note to thank you for providing us with shelter the last few days. We loved the neighborhood and found the home quite suitable for our needs. I would like to let you know that the water tap in the master BR dribbles constantly and should be attended to. Other than that, we found everything in good shape and the kitchen very nice, even tho we never did use the kitchen for cooking. We would gladly recommend your rental to anyone.

My family stayed at this flat when we were waiting out a short sale. The neighborhood is probably my favorite neighborhood in Marin. It's super convenient to the Larkspur Ferry, about a 15 min bike ride. The place was well furnished and has an excellent chef's kitchen.
The owner was very kind and flexible, which was very important to us during this time.
An all around wonderful experience! Loved the house, decor, neighborhood, convenience, etc. Had a lovely Thanksgiving dinner with family thanks to the well stocked kitchen, i.e. plenty of cookware, dishes, etc. Will definitely try to book this home if staying in the area again.
Had a wonderful stay in this home! Comfortable and unique decor, with plenty of space to relax and socialize. The kitchen nice and modern, and is well stocked for making meals in house. The location is great for basic amenities and local adventures! Plenty of clean linens as well which was a huge plus. Very safe and pleasant neighborhood; we were there over Halloween and even handed out some candy to neighborhood trick-or-treaters :). Parking in back is very convenient. Overall highly recommend this property and the owner, and will look into staying here again if I am ever back in the area!
Spacious and comfortable unit in San Rafael. Walking distance to downtown with a variety of restaurants to choose from as well as pet supply stores and grocery stores. The unit was clean and ready early. The owner is very nice and easy to coordinate with. Area is quiet and historic looking. it's also very convenient to a variety of other areas like Larkspars, Corte Madera, Sonoma, and Napa. I will defiantly stay again.
We were a party of six - two couples, one of whom had two children ages 4 & 6. The house was as advertised and the living areas were very comfortable - we hung out on the couches each evening. The kids wanted to stay in the bedroom with their parents, and while the rollaway made space tight, they all made it work. They stayed in the room with the en suite bathroom. We stayed in the front bedroom which had ample room and I slept soundly in the bed - it was very comfy. The main house bathroom has a teeny tiny shower with a low showerhead. I'm 5'4" and it was just at the top of my head. The water pressure and heat were good though.
The location was what made us pick this house, to be honest. On driving to the house the first time, google maps took us through several neighborhoods when we exited the highway. If we had stayed on the highway to the Central San Rafael exit, it would have been a straighter shot. Because we were visiting friends who live close by, there were always two cars going places, and navigating to the Central San Rafael highway interchange was much easier than going back through the neighborhoods.
We shopped at Trader Joe's and Safeway and had breakfast in downtown San Rafael which was wonderful. We had pasta and salad and garlic bread for dinner at the house one night - six adults and three children had places to sit, dishes (some bowls, some plates), cooking utensils and cleaning supplies. The instructions don't say anything about recycling or tossing garbage when visitors leave, but we took it all out b/c it was easy enough to figure out where everything went.
Only two complaints, and they are minor: I would say the knives could definitely be sharper. They made cutting food for kids' snacks difficult. Also, parking was odd. It would be easier if one spot was designated for rental customers. The other couple had to park with their kids on the street one night because all the spots in back were parked in. Street parking was easy enough to find, and the street is really residential so you don't have a lot of traffic, but with kids and luggage or groceries, backyard parking would have been nice.
Dealing with Fred was easy-peasy, too. For the price and the location, this house fit the bill.
My husband and I and another couple, our dear friends, needed a place that was located halfway between San Francisco and Sonoma, our two main destinations over the Labor Day weekend. This house was just the thing; we enjoyed the house itself a great deal (beautiful upgraded kitchen!) and the location was terrific. (Try the restaurant Crepevine in downtown San Raphael for breakfast or lunch!) The house was charming, large, and very comfortable, all for a great rental price. The owner, Fred, was an excellent communicator, and we were all very pleased with our stay. Highly recommend this property!
