After traveling the world we are always drawn back to Healdsburg. Guests from France wonder why we would ever come to France as Healdsburg has it all. The weather, the food and the wine... grown and made by people who actually welcome you to their wineries and are excited to visit with you about their wines. Healdsburg has the charm of a small town but offers everything one can dream of, fabulous food, shopping, every activity from the ocean to the hills to ballooning in the clouds! All of this and very friendly people are the things that keep us coming back to Healdsburg!
This very private property allows us to step away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Here we can enjoy the vast views of the Dry Creek Valley but in moments be in Healdsburg to enjoy the coffee shops, shopping, a concert on the town square, the farmers markets or a top quality restaurant. Within 1/2 mile you are submerged in world class wineries of three renowned valleys.
It's hard to find words to explain how incredible this place is. The photos do not do it justice. Just a few convenient minutes from Healdsburg, you turn up a little driveway that curves under low hanging trees to your private oasis overlooking Dry Creek Road vineyards (West Wines, to be exact). It's out of a magazine. Everything is first class - towels, dishware, lighting, décor - it's better than a 5 star hotel.
Surrounded by pomegranate trees, fresh herbs, and lemon trees, you walk into a perfectly decorated farm-like house with all white walls, gorgeous décor, a new kitchen and bath, and even a big laundry room with baskets and shelves. Out back is a big table to have a picnic, as well as 4 chairs with cushions where we took in the warm sun before our first tasting each day. The French Press was a plus, as was the unique half door that opens so you can feel the crisp fall air and see the vineyards thru the trees. I would never pick another place to stay and I hope to come back for years to come.
Oh! And we went running everyday across the street in the vineyards - what a wonderful way to see the land up close. Our favorite marker for getting back was a sign that said "Left at Chardonnay". Sounds like a movie. And in some ways, this really was. Thank you!!
We spent our anniversary in Healdsburg and absolutely fell in love with this house. The location is absolutely perfect. It's just a minute or two from the town square (I actually jogged into the town square from the house several mornings) and also a minute or two from some fantastic wineries. The house is wonderful and was absolutely perfect for just my husband and I. At first I thought having no TV would be strange, but by the second day, I was loving it! We would definitely recommend this house.
