Summer Haze Cottage is a cosy 3 bedroom character cottage situated in a quiet hamlet within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, just 5 minutes from the award winning sandy/surf beaches of Woolacombe and 1 mile from the picturesque village and coves of Lee Bay (good for rock pooling, snorkeling and kayaking). The cottage is available for holiday rental throughout the year and is an ideal base for families, sports enthusiasts and couples. The property has gated off-lane parking, a good size garden with swings, slide, garden furniture, outside lighting, BBQ and fantastic countryside and sea views. On the ground floor the cottage has a fully fitted kitchen, sitting/dining room with woodburning stove + character staircase, bathroom with bath/shower over and a double bedroom. Upstairs are an additional 2 bedrooms - one large with a 4-poster double bed + cot and a smaller L shaped bedroom with staggered bunkbeds.

The cottage is situated within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is in close proximity to all the major surfing beaches and coves in the North Devon area - Woolacombe, Barricane, Coombsgate, Grunter, Puttsborough, Croyde and Saunton + a 1/2hr drive from the surf break @ Lynmouth. We are next to a variety of footpaths - one's leading to the coastal footpath, with it unspoilt valleys, coves and headlands + others heading into the wooded valley behind the property and down to the picturesque village of Lee. Exmoor National Park with all its natural beauty - coastal walks, beaches, coves, villages, valleys, woodlands and moorland, is only a 20 minute drive away. So, whether you are looking for a chilled out, get away from it all holiday or an action packed, adrenalin charged break, North Devon is the place to head all year round!

  • We require a deposit of £100 for w/e and out of season weekly bookings and £200 for all other bookings. The remaining balance is due 4 weeks prior to your holiday commencing.

    Winter months - free basket of logs on arrival and additional logs can be purchased @ £3 per wheelbarrow load.
    Electricity via £1 coin metre (approx £1 per day).

The 2 double bedrooms each enjoy far reaching views across the surrounding countryside to the sea beyond and on a clear day you can see the South Wales coastline from the double bedroom upstairs. The L shaped bunk room has a velux window, making it safer for young children. There are also fully opening stair gates situated @ the top and bottom of the stairs.

Notes: The cottage has a decent size garden which is made secure by the 5-bar gate, stone walls and fencing. The garden has a number of areas - a sheltered courtyard situated outside the kitchen, with table/chairs, b-b-q and outside lighting + a raised lawn area, ideal for ball games, relaxing on the wooden bench and enjoying views across surrounding countryside and an ideal spot for star gazing + an enclosed, fenced, gated area with trees, rotary washing line, swings and slide (safe and secure for young children) + a gravel area with willow trees, large pots and a wooden picnic bench.

Secluded coves: We are fortunate to live in such a beautiful, protected, unspoilt, varied landscape here in North Devon. There are unspoilt beaches and coves doted along the coast from Mortehoe to Lee (within a 1 mile radius of the cottage), which can be reached via the coastal footpath and winding country lanes. So, if you fancy the idea of possibly having one of the beaches/coves to yourself, such as Rockham Bay, Bennetts Mouth, Hillymouth or Sandy Cove, then this is quite possible. Rock pooling, stone skimming or a bracing dip can be enjoyed along with your picnic or a cook out (as opposed to the burger and ice cream vans available on the larger beaches).

Winter Specials.: We are offering a 10% discount on all bookings taken during November & December (excluding Christmas & New Year). 2009 prices available for weekly bookings during 2010 if booked prior to the 30th November 2009.
