This quiet neighborhood, great for walking, is two short blocks to one of Eugene's nicest neighborhood parks, Washington Park... a truly special home, all about the neighborhood, the location, the trees and your comfort.
We moved to Eugene separately, in 1975-1976. Both of us thought if we liked the area then we would stay, and if not we'd leave. We've never left. We love the Pacific Northwest, and especially Oregon. Loving Eugene says a lot about us personally. We enjoy meeting new friends, and know the area very well in case you're looking for some recommendations.
Please tell us a little about your planned visit. It helps us when we know who we're speaking with. Thanks.
Kenny Barr purchased this house in 1990
This is where we live year round. Our home is in the back of the property, in an apartment that's mostly over the garage (separate everything.) The location is ideal. Walking distance to groceries and restaurants; walking and bike trails along the Willamette river; the UO campus including Hayward Field and Matthew Knight Arena; buses that leave to the doorstep of Autzen Stadium a few blocks from the home; a short jog to both the Amazon Running Trail, and also the Prefontaine Trail. And there's an easy drive to the Oregon Coast, Cascade Mountains, Crater Lake, rivers and lakes, rafting and fishing, mountain biking, golfing and winter sports. An outdoor paradise.
Eugene also has a symphony, ballet, opera, galleries, the Bach Festival, and numerous cultural events. The Cuthbert Amphitheater in summer months is an unbeatable venue for concerts of all types.
One of 'Eugene's finest neighborhoods'. Quiet and tree lined, every home is different. The Location couldn't be better. In addition you get Jeanne and Kenny as your very gracious hosts.

You made my son Dave's wedding so much easier for us! Thank you for your gracious hospitality. Beautiful home. I would recommend it, and you folks, as an A+++ experience. Be well.
Celebrating our 41st wedding anniversary in Eugene, where it all started for us before moving away, this house was the perfect setting for our return after so many years. Gorgeous property in a lovely neighborhood, we couldn't have asked for more. Although we didn't meet the owners personally, they were extremely helpful and informative as we considered our lodging choices.
The house we stayed in was perfect for us, and I want to thank our host for such wonderful hospitality. All I can really say is that if you are looking for a home to stay in instead of a hotel...this house is perfect. Everything that we needed was there. And we did meet the owners and they were very kind and had great suggestions for things to do while in Eugene.
I would highly recommend this home.
The house is great! Very cosy and perfectly clean. Everything from toilet paper to washing detergent was there. We stayed there for nine days with our two kids and we loved every minute.
From the deck in the back of the house one has a great view over Eugene and it is perfect for dining or just reading a book.
The neighborhood is very nice and a safeway and starbucks are in walking distance.
We will definetely come back.
We stayed in this home from July 19 - 28, 2014. Our trip was business for the most part and so it was great to have a real home to return to each day. A home that was spotless, comfy, exactly as advertised and with owners who couldn't have been more accommodating (they even let us borrow a shirt when we needed one)! We've stayed in 15 + VRBO's all over the world and this home was THE BEST! When you go to Eugene, this is the place to stay!
My wife and I recently came back from the most amazing vacation in Eugene, Oregon. We found this home to be very comfortable! Kenny and Jeanne were there to orient us with life in Eugene. This house felt like home to us. The house is situated in one of Eugene's most spectacular neighborhoods. It is absolutely breathtaking how this house is located among all the trees in this neighborhood. The house is very close to Safeway, University of Oregon, Hayward Field, downtown, etc. Within 15 minutes you are everywhere you need to be, mall, Pre's Trail, parks. I am absolutely sold on Eugene and its culture. Cyclist are respected in this community. I just loved the "green," culture and the fitness environment. The weather was absolutely amazing when we stayed there, high 40's, low 50's at night and high 74 during the day with bright sunny day's. We talked about going to the Prefontaine Classic for years and we finally went...we were not disappointed. We are coming again next summer but this time we want to stay for two months. I may bring a team of runners to train in Eugene, Oregon.
I stayed here with my mother-in-law and my 18-month old son. It worked out great. Very private and peaceful and in a great part of town. If I go back to Eugene, I will be staying here again!! Thanks
