Luxury Villa Steps to the Beach, Pool and Beautiful Sea View

Then you start up a steep climb to the villa on more stone and concrete steps. You have a choice a third of the way up these steps to go left on the wooden boardwalk path or continue up the stone steps. The boardwalk path is easier but longer, and if you follow it all the way around you end up at the front door of the villa. Halfway around the boardwalk route you can turn right and go to the outside stone shower and take either the steep concrete steps up to the pool and veranda of the villa or continue straight to rejoin the steep stone and concrete steps leading up to the side of the villa. If you are in reasonably good physical condition, then the path to and from the beach is not a problem. If, however, you are infirm or have a physical disability you will probably not be able to manage the trek either up or down. The reality for our group concerning the steep steps, the goat path, the private sundeck, and the lock on the gate was one of appreciation and how much was added to the overall ambiance of the villa. To us the pathway to the beach was a storybook vision brought to life of a romantic villa nestled on a hillside with a steep winding rock stairway that blended into the natural setting.
Volumes more could easily be written about our stay at this villa and our adventures but suffice it to say that we had a time to remember. We made memories that will last as long as we do, and we would refer this villa to others in a heartbeat.
Seriously, you get it all here. You get Craig, the twice weekly housekeeping, the pool guy, and one spacious beautiful villa to call home while in St. Martin.
David, the villa owner, is friendly, helpful, and gracious. Ask him via telephone or email any questions you have and David will give you a speedy response. David knows lots of people on the island, and David is a great source of recommendations. We used David’s suggestions for cars, car rental place, and the chef, the grocery stocking service, a boat excursion, and more.
Finally, we want to thank you, David, for opening up your beautiful villa for us to enjoy. It was a pleasure dealing with you. Craig is a gem.

Craig, the most able caretaker at the villa, met us at the airport, took us to the car rental booth, followed us to the car rental shop, led us to the villa as the lead car, and was as much a concierge and tour guide as a caretaker during our stay. Feel free to ask Craig anything you need or want to know about the villa or the island, and Craig will provide you the information you desire. Craig had a welcome basket that was full of delectable treats as well as the groceries we asked him to stock the villa with prior to our arrival. Craig is quite an asset, and watching the Scottish Craig attempt to ascertain the whereabouts of Moonbeam is entertaining in itself. Wait until you meet Moonbeam, and you will understand.
We commissioned a chef to come to the villa one evening and prepare a private gourmet meal for our group. The food was delicious, and the chef’s presentation was excellent and entertaining. The chef left the cooking areas and the kitchen spotless upon his departure, and our group is still fondly recalling the great meal the chef specially prepared for us.
We went to Grand Case to dine, we went to Marigot and Philipsburg to shop, we went to Pinel and Tintamarre Islands to mix with celebrities and swim with sea turtles, we went to Anse Marcel and Simpson Bay, and we went to Orient Beach. In fact, our group did virtually everything mentioned in this review, and more. There is no end to the fun; whatever that is for you.
It would be remiss of this review not to mention the walk down to the beach from the villa. Part of the allure of staying at a private secluded villa is the security and lack of strangers coming by to check out the place. This villa is secure and the way from the beach up to the villa is best described as obviously not meant to be overtly inviting to the passerby people. The steps are steep, made of stone and concrete, but there is a guide rail to assist balance. At the apex of the first set of steps you come to a big black rock where you turn left and go through a narrow grass, dirt, and loose pebble goat path which cuts through the flowering shrubbery and comes out at your own private sundeck. Craig puts out lounge chairs and umbrellas each morning for your use, and there is a head and foot shower also. Once you leave the deck you traverse a short mostly concrete path to the lower gate complete with a lock that you are shown the secret combination of to open.

Let me tell you about this place, because it is exponentially more than you imagine right now. If you can afford to go to St. Martin, and you can afford to stay at this villa, then you certainly have the means to have the time of your life!
The villa itself is everything the photos display, but the photos can’t capture the magnificence of the setting. The villa is on a lofty perch on a hillside overlooking the beach and ocean. As the name of the beach alludes, the sunrises are breathtakingly amazing.
The interior of the villa is gorgeous and extremely comfortable. The bedrooms are spacious as are the bathrooms. The air conditioning is quite capable of keeping you cool during those few times when there isn’t a breeze coming off the ocean.
That the villa is literally a stone throw away from the casino, hot tub, and pool at the Weston Resort is an asset to the location of the villa. To be guests of the villa, and to have free access to everything at the Weston Resort, is to have the best of situations just steps from your gate.
The whole island is a marvel. There is something to see or visit or activity to participate in that is geared for a wide diversity of tastes and desires. Whether it is to scuba, snorkel,
sunbathe with or without a swimsuit, take a boat ride, go sailing, body surf, fish, shop until you drop, dine in elegance, gently fondle throngs of butterflies, island hop, or just kick up your feet and watch the world go by, this place affords you all of these options and many more. Perhaps you can make a million at the baccarat table, or hike a trail up a mountainside to view vistas that have to be seen to be believed, or dive down to the ocean floor to discover a lurking octopus, or hop on a horse for a romp beside the ocean, or even discover a new beach each day.
There were six people in our party which consisted of three couples. We rented two cars so everybody in our party was free to go explore their interests. Small cars are a grand plan as many of the roads are quite narrow; especially if you do a good bit of exploring on the French side. The roads are much better on the Dutch side, but our group spent about equal time on both sides of the island. Driving on the island is an adventure! Apparently, there are no rules for driving. There may be guidelines, but they are only loosely adhered to at best.
