Relax in the air-conditioned apartment with a glass of wine or on the balconies decked out with sun loungers and dining table/chairs, or in the warm swimming pool which has views over the Mediterranean and mountains. This is a child friendly apartment. It has everything from toaster to fridge freezer to washing machine, dishwasher too. Big open plan kitchen dining room, with comfortable indoor seating for 6, both twin rooms have built in wardrobes with stupendous views over the Five Finger Mountain Range, one bedroom has a 2nd tv with Wii games. Foldaway bed and cot available. Family bath/shower room, with fans and air-conditioning in every room Sandy beach within 5 minutes drive, golf course 15 mins, local supermarket/restaurant in walking distance

Travel to Cyprus/Electricity/Climate/Currency.: Frequent scheduled and charter flights from UK to northern Cyprus (Ercan/Lefkosa)). N. Cyprus has direct air links with Turkey where all planes must first touch down, you stay in the aircraft and then you take off again direct to Ercan. Then it is about 20 mins to apartment. Advice can be given about the cheapest flights directly to Ercan. Flights also go from UK to Southern Cyprus (Easy Jet/BA/Thomas Cook/Monarch/Aegean Airlines//Lufthansa into Larnaca and Paphos) From Larnaca, its about 45 mins and from Paphos its takes 1 1/2hrs Can arrange airport collection/very reasonably priced car hire.

Electricity: 240 volts. Plugs are in English standards.Climate: It has dry, long summers and warm, short winters. Rainy season between December and February.

Currency: Northern Cyprus has the Turkish Lira and holds its value well. You can use British Pounds there too.

If you bring Sterling or Euros to banks in northern cyprus you will get a better exchange rate.

nearby attractions: Kyrenia/Bellapais/Nicosia: With its Venetian castle plus the backdrop of the Bespmark (Five Finger) Mountain, Kyrenia is stunningly beautiful. . It offers the most magnificent scenery of the island. Kyrenia has a charming and tiny harbour, full of yachts and fishing boats where you can enjoy a coffee/meal sitting around the harbour. Day and evening cruises can be arranged. The castle has one of the oldest shipwreck's on display (estimated to be 2300 years old) found in 1965. Scuba diving lessons/paragliding can be arranged from the harbour area. Bellapais - the character of the abbey is breathtaking. The abbey is used for music concerts and plenty of walks around the village to delight the walkers. Lincguide website has a monthly events calendar for concerts. Nicosia (Lefkosa) is the capital of both north and south cyprus and is divided. It takes back 2,200 years to the settlement of Ledra. Many historical places to visit. Todays Nicosia offers lots of shops and an old bazaar for the shoppers.

local supermarkets: There is a local supermarket (within walking distance) in the centre of the village which sells everything including lovely fresh bread daily. Local Lemar Supermarkets have home-made mediterranean-type food in the deli section when eating in and sell English newspapers.

Charming old Kyrenia harbour is 12/14 mins drive away. Prices in Northern Cyprus are at least a third cheaper than in the UK and other European destinations and the local restaurants are so reasonably priced -Niazis in Kyrenia is a must! Watch turtles at nearby conservation site on sandy beach (Turtle Bay), scuba diving, swim in the warm Mediterranean sea even until late October and early November ), lovely walks around the island - orchid walks in springtime (guide book for walking in apartment), friendly locals, plenty of historic castles/abbeys to visit (Bellapais Abbey) (where Lawrence Durrell wrote 'Bitter Lemons'), also the Knight Templers castle towards the east of the island. Visit the 'Pan Handle' (Karpaz peninsula - recently reviewed in The Times) for miles of golden beaches with very few people - owner can recommend a fantastic restaurant up there where you can enjoy Sea Bream, chips and salad whilst watching the beautiful Mediterranean scenery.

Other Activities: turtle watching at the local bay, scuba diving in Kyrenia, local walks organised

Golf: For the golfers, there is a new 18 hole golf course at the Korineum Golf Club which is about 15 minutes from the apartment. It is cheaper to play out of high season and the club has some very good deals early spring or autumn/winter time. Please ask the owner about further details.

    At the time of booking, £100 deposit is required to secure the dates. The balance is payable 8 weeks before departure plus £100 security deposit which is fully refundable once the apartment is left in good order. If the holiday is cancelled within the 8 weeks, the £100 deposit will be forfeited but the balance will be repaid.

Notes: The apartment has everything you need for a relaxing holiday, even a washing machine. Outside sun loungers on one of the balconies with dining table/chairs for outdoor eating. Morning/afternoon sun floods into both sides of the apartment. We can arrange collection from Ercan or Larnaca/Paphos to the apartment and arrange very reasonably priced car rental. Car can be delivered to the apartment with maps. There is a pool-side bar/restaurant with free wifi. Second pool now open. Apartment is in a quiet setting but, by car, within easy reach of many historical sites, beaches, golf course, beautiful medieval harbour of Kyrenia, restaurants and many activities included guided walks. Two tourist books in apartment and owner can give lots of info. Local supermarket (freshly baked bread daily) and authentic Cypriot restaurant also within walking distance in Arapkoy village, only a few minutes walk from the apartment. We are well served with good amenities..

A welcoming and relaxing stay

We enjoyed a wonderful 14 days here. The apartment is extremely well maintained, very peaceful and quiet yet within easy reach of ammenities. Pool area is a dream between the mountains and the sea. The local people are wonderfully welcoming to you. Girne is about 5 miles away and we visited there many times. It is ideally placed for exploring the whole of Northern Cyprus.
The sunsets and moonrises were spectacular - even the thunderstorm over the sea one evening was a pyrotechnic delight to watch. The countryside in North Cyprus is wonderfully rugged.
The nearby beach at Alagardi (shared with the turtles!) is so serene. Fine sand and the warmest water I've ever swum in! The waters around North Cyprus are so blue and so clear too!
Local restaurants provide marvellous menus and service at a relaxed pace where ever you choose to eat. Even when we ate at the apartment, there was everything we needed to prepare the local produce easily. Don't forget to sample the local bread - it's delicious.
The apartment is ideally suited to those who are looking for a quiet and relaxing holiday. 4 or more guests can be accommodated with ease. We wanted for nothing more in the apartment.

The owners have taken a lot of time in preparing this aprtment and it shows in the quality. They have also supplied a lot of relevant information on travelling to/from Cyprus as well as information on the local area.

If Barry and Annette were to start brewing lager - it would probably be Carlsberg!!

A perfect holiday apartment in a great location

We stayed in this modern apartment for a week in April and it was perfect for us. We are a couple with a one-year old child, so were looking something that was toddler-friendly, and it all worked really well for us. Annette was a helpful host, helping us to cheaply arrange a hire car (the car hire guys are very friendly and helpful too) and made sure we had everything we needed as a family with a baby. The apartment was clean and the open plan kitchen/living with all the facilities made us feel right at home. A great place to come back to after a day and plenty of dvds (or tv channels) to watch if you're bored. In April it was still a bit chilly in the evening, but there were plenty blankets and duvets in the apartment to keep us warm at night.
The location of the apartment is slightly away from the coast (about 5-10 minutes drive), higher up in the hills in a new development of quite a number of villas and apartments mainly lived in by expats. It's very easy to find. The old village itself is small and quite charming.
The views are spectacular, both to the mountains and the sea. Kyrenia is nearby and easily reachable if you want to go out for a meal or need some shopping done.
The Agadi beach is close and lovely if you don't want something too commercial and developed. Just a lot of sand and a couple of restaurants. We also visited Escape beach club, which is a nice beach on the other side of Kyrenia, with more facilities.
A great activity we did was climbing the steep steps up to castle Buffavento, nearby in the mountains. The Buffavento restaurant on the main road serves fabulous Turkish meze and is highly recommended.
We had a great week here and wouldn't hesitate booking the apartment again!

a marvellous two weeks spent in this apartment

My wife and I had a marvellous two weeks in this apartment. We had never been to northern cyprus before and it had stupendous views from the bedroom windows of the mountains. The apartment had everything and it was spotlessly clean and the next door neighbour could not have been more helpful in directing us to supermarkets etc. Lovely to have someone so helpful nearby.
Our holiday was a walking one and the walking guides in the apartment were the most up to date ones and we spent most of our time walking and enjoying the stunning beauty of cyprus. Annette had even supplied a cooler picnic bag which we could sling over our back for much needed snacks mid day. We really appreciated that as we had forgot to take one with us.
We had a great holiday and will certainly return again as it was very easy taking advantage of the taxi collection from Larnaca and the hire car was delivered to our apartment and collected there to. We had not been self catering before but the service that Annette arranged for us was first class.
Simply the best holiday we had for a long long time and I am really pleased to be able to tell future people about this gem of an apartment.

brilliant holiday

My friend and I had a great holiday in this flat. It had everything and it was very clean. Brilliant views from the windows and the sun shone all day long.
The car hire and airport collection was organised well without any hold ups.

excellent venue for seeing northern cyprus

We stayed in this flat for 1 week beginning of October 2012.
We had never stayed in a self catering flat before and we were very pleased with the condition of it. It was spotlessly clean, ample towels and the kitchen had everything we could have wished for. It was immaculate throughout and we had a smashing holiday here. The views from the windows onto the mountains are just stunning and we enjoyed a drink every evening on the biggest of the balconies. At the beginning of October the weather was superb - 20s - and the sea water was still warm enough to swim in and safe for our children. We found the sandy beach next door to Alagardi, the best one as it shelved gently out with only sand so just super.

We went to some of the restaurants recommended but we found the best value for money was Spaghetti Junction on the Kyrenia road especially as we have two little girls. A main course for £8 which cant be beaten so we ended up eating out more as the Turkish Lira had a good exchange rate then.

Shooters is the best cafe for decent coffee and it has free wifi.

We went to Kyrenia market - every Wednesday - and it was a myriad of colour and smells and we got some real bargains there for the children - very good and inexpensive trainers and socks galore. Olive oil, cheese, nuts are very cheap there too.

The airport transfer Annette arranged for us with Cyprus Pines went brilliantly. They were there to pick us up at Larnaca as planned and the journey was effortless going through the S and N cyprus borders. The car provided for us was just the job and very cheap at £18 a day, something only Annette can arrange so cheaply.

Had a great holiday and look forward to returning next year.
