Our Hawaiian paradise can be yours when you stay in our beautiful 4 bedroom, 3.5 bathroom, 2100 square foot Big Island home located in KaMilo, a private gated community surrounded by the Mauna Lani North Golf Course. Entering, you will find an impressive cathedral ceilinged great room with a relaxing entertainment and dining area. Retractable sliding glass doors open to one of the three main floor lanais, allowing the indoor and outdoor spaces to flow together as you enjoy the comfort of the tropically appointed living area.

The fully equipped gourmet kitchen has Thermadore stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, and African mahogany cabinets. If you enjoy outdoor cooking, the lanai is perfectly equipped with a gas BBQ and table with seats for eight.

This home will comfortably accommodate up to 10 adults and provides anything you may need for your dream vacation. For those concerned with stairs, the home provides easy one-level access to the entire ground floor, which houses three of the four bedrooms, including one master. Both master bedrooms have California king beds, ensuite bathrooms, and walk-in closets. The second floor master provides privacy and a stunning sunrise view over Mauna Kea from the private lanai. A third bedroom has one queen bed while the fourth bedroom has two queen beds (not doubles!). All bedrooms have ceiling fans as well as 32' or larger HDTVs with Blue Ray/DVD players and digital cable. The great room has a 55' 1080p LED HDTV equipped with a Blue Ray/DVD player, HD cable box and surround sound stereo system (5.1 Dolby), sure to entertain the entire family.

One of the best-kept secrets of the Mauna Lani Resort, the KaMilo/Kulalani Recreation Center, is the largest in Mauna Lani and only a short walk from your home. It boasts a lap pool, a free-form resort style pool, a kiddy wading pool, two hot tub spas, a workout room with free-weights and exercise machines, expansive lawns, and a gathering pavilion with a Viking grill and outdoor kitchen for hosting parties or other special events.

For those that live for the beach, the Mauna Lani Owner's Beach Club is only a short drive down the road. While there, you can enjoy all the amenities that the club has to offer, including swimming, snorkeling, stand-up paddling, and much, much more! A full-service restaurant with an outstanding food and tropical beverage menu is located mere steps from the beach.

About The Owner

We both grew up near the ocean, one in Massachusetts, and the other in California. We have been traveling to Hawaii since before we were married in 1990. The Big Island has drawn us back time after time. We found the slower pace and warmer weather of the Kohala Coast ideal. We enjoy all the outdoor activities - snorkeling, golf, tennis, hiking, fishing and especially whale watching. We hope that you and your family will enjoy and appreciate the Big Island as much as we do with our family and friends. Mahalo!

A perfect home away from home for a big family vacation

We stayed at this home for 8 days with eight adults and had a great, effortless time. The location is ideal, about 20 miles north of Kona, but just a half mile from a pleasant grocery store. The local amenities, pool, athletic club, beach club, golf are ideal. And much of the Big Island is easily accessible from Mauna Lani. The house is very well stocked with kitchen tools, has an excellent gas grill outside and a garage stuffed with child and adult beach, bike and golf equipment. We have stayed at several locations on the Big Island, and have found Mauna Lani to be an ideal spot for doing nothing or exploring the Island, which ever suits your mood on any given day. The owners were very easy to work with and very prompt in responding. We very highly recommend this home for large family groups.

Fantastic home, wonderful amenities and wonderful for a big family

We just concluded a 2 week stay at this Kamilo home and I could not recommend it more to anyone considering staying in the Mauna Lani area. The house was perfect for two families (kids ranging from 2 to 11) and my parents. The layout was very nice and the kitchen was extremely well stocked with anything you could think of.

I've stayed on the big island before and this house was stocked with everything far beyond I have experienced with other home rentals. Bikes, boogie boards, snorkels/fins, sand toys, etc. And, to say they have a good supply of towels is an extreme understatement. We are an extremely active family and the house worked out so well for us with the appliances, bbq grill (with extra propane - very nice touch) and great access to the recreation center.

It is is very close proximity to the Foodland and many other stores where you can get about anything you need during your stay. We did very little driving during our stay and found ourselves walking to get things as needed. Additionally, we use the access to the Mauna Lani Beach Club quite a bit - so that is another great perk for staying in the area.

I would highly recommend this house enough and encourage you to work with the owners as they are very responsive and easy to work with.

Beautiful home; better than expected! Great accomodations.

This home is more beautiful and warmly inviting than the pictures or description state. The home is not only incredible, but it is very clean and well-maintained. Every personal touch imaginable is in this home and the owner's welcome was very surprising and started our trip off even better than expected. The bikes, snorkel gear, towels, golf clubs, bbq, etc were great to have rather than to have to rent. The private beach with its cabana's and awesome snorkeling was another reason we'll be back. Definitely the best place we've rented from VRBO. Thanks to the owner's for sharing their beautiful home with us for a vacation we won't forget!

Everything as promissed, and more.

We have just returned from a 10 day stay with our whole family, 10 in all including a 15 month child up to 68 year old parents. The home was just as pictured and described and the kitchen better equiped than mine at home. We are very pleased with our choice and would recommend this rental to anyone. The owners and their management team were very friendy and quick to respond to all communications. The extras like the beach and bike gear, gift basket and binders full of local information, advice and operating instructions was much appreciated. We had a wonderful time on this beautiful island.

What a lovely home!

We loved our stay at this beautiful KaMilo home! It was absolutely immaculate, very well stocked with everything we needed, and ideal for our extended family group. Bonuses included proximity to the Rec Center, Beach Club access, availability of water toys for kids of all ages, and all the comforts of home (plus some!). From playing at the beach to stargazing, this property makes it all like... well, a day at the beach!

Thank you so much for having this great home available, and for making all the transactions so easy. This home is absolutely recommended for a stay of any length!

One note: there is construction of new homes in the area, which is visible and audible from the lanais. We did not find it disruptive during our stay.

Beautiful Island Home

This house was perfect for all of our needs. We were on Hawaii Island for a large family get-together and we shared this house with two cousins. There were seven of us and the house was very comfortable for that number. We didn't do much cooking, but the kitchen was well stocked. Everything was spotless when we got there. The beds were very comfortable. The owner has all questions answered in two binders, from how to use the stove-top (no problem) to how the A/C works (all doors need to be shut or it will turn off). We found that out the first night! The pool area was large, and very quiet. Hardly anyone there when we were in the pool. I highly suggest you give this property a try the next time you need a place to stay in the Mauna Lani area. I can't wait to go back!
