Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful. An Oasis of peace and quiet just minutes to Austin
Submitted: May 5, 2013
Stayed: April 2013
My children and their families live in the Austin area. We had a wedding to attend there in mid April and many family and friends to visit from Dallas down to San Antonio. On-line this location seemed to fit our needs, out in the country but easily accessible to all. Little did we know we had stubbled onto an oasis just this side of paradise.
Our stay lasted most of the month of April and we did not want to leave. Just so relaxing. Cool breezy quiet mornings, trimmed acres to stroll with shade trees at just the right locations, lazily dropping a fishing line down by the creek or in the pond just steps away. It was direct from the pages of Samuel Clemens.
The cottage was wonderfully appointed and very comfortable and designed with such thoughtful use of space as to be much larger inside than expected. I use a power wheelchair and easily maneuvered throughout the house and yard with few exceptions.
I wish to give our hosts a Texas size Thank You. They were kind and thoughtful, considerate and friendly. Even loaning me a pair of cuff-links for the wedding. "Something borrowed"
If you're looking for a friendly, peaceful place to stay, but still be close to downtown Austin, don't overlook this jewel. We'll be back. "God willin' and the creek don't rise."

Owner's Response: We enjoyed meeting and visiting with you and your family. We certainly hope that you are able to come back to Texas soon. The fish in the pond are happy that you are gone. They can get back to chasing dragonflies. And the peacock is still looking in the windows for Colleen!
