Cross Village Cottage Rental Photos and Description
Cottage, 2 Bedrooms, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 6)
Only one summer week remaining available which includes Labor Day August 30 - September 6. Fall color weekends are still open.
Lake Michigan sunsets and crystal clear waters equals 'life on Cross Village time'. Located on Michigan's #1 scenic drive, the towns of Harbor Springs, Petoskey, Mackinaw City and Cheboygan are all within a 30-minute drive. The great room is all windows offering an unrestricted view of Lake Michigan. A spacious deck, just a few steps out the door, juts out over the beach for sunning and star-gazing.
If your idea of vacation is more active, the area offers boating, hiking the north country trails, biking, antiquing and shopping. Three Pines Gallery and the famous Legs Inn are a 1 mile walk into Cross Village. Seven miles north of Cross Village, Bliss Park has acres of climbing dunes and sandy beach.
Water shoes are necessary for swimming and beach-walking because the Great Lakes water levels are low. There is a sandy beach but there are rounded rocks to walk navigate to the water line.
The deck rests on large boulders jutting out over the beach. If your children are under the age of reason, constant supervision would be required to prevent them from climbing through the railings.

About Julie Appel-Hill
Our father, Carroll Appel, built this lake house when his family was young with the help of a local Indian carpenter and stonemason. They named it Shimnikon 'place of the apples'. When the family grew, Dad built a retirement home across M-119 and up the bluff which the family now uses. We rent the lake house to help preserve our family tradition for yet another generation.
Julie Appel-Hill purchased this cottage in 1966
Why Julie Appel-Hill chose Cross Village
Cross Village and the changing moods of Lake Michigan provide a getaway that restores perspective to our hectic lives.
What makes this cottage unique
The beaches along this stretch of Lake Michigan are sparsely populated. You can walk the waterline for miles and encounter few souls. Wildlife is abundant.
