360° mountain view log home with covered porch and grand stone fireplace. Minutes from grocery, shops, trails, and hospital.

Key amenities: WiFi, air con, full kitchen (double oven, stovetop kitchen island, dishwasher, compactor, washer/dryer), fireplace/s, leather sofas, large jacuzzi bath in master bathroom, TVs, covered surround porch with 360° mountain views and set of matching wooden rocking chairs, and hammock (please ask).

Enjoy your mountain morning coffee "on top of the world" as you spot rabbits, mule deer, and elk on the lawn at sunrise. After a day of local outdoor activities, enjoy a soak downtown in the Pagosa Natural Mineral Hot Springs. Meet back home to catch the sunset from a full set of matching rocking chairs on the porch. Grab a lap blanket, pour a glass of wine and enjoying the crackling sound of the log fireplace amongst the company of friends & family.

Cool in the summer, cosy in the winter. Shade, air con, central air, central fireplace, and radiant underfloor heating.

The ground floor of the house is open in style, with large widows at either side of the grand stone fireplace, and an unobstructed view from the kitchen to the main living area (leather sofas & cosy reading nook). A log staircase leads up the the upstairs floor, which accesses an outdoor porch balcony with double doors, and the TV/sofa bay.

This log home has 4 bedrooms & 4 bathrooms (2 up, 2 down):

* Master Queen Bedroom (ground floor) sleeps 2. Gas fireplace, writing desk & loveseat. En suite jacuzzi bathtub w/window, large shower with seats, 2 sinks & mirrors, walk-in closet and private toilet.

* Queen Bedroom + crib + toddler bed (ground floor) sleeps 2++. Crib and 2nd child bed available (please ask). Walk-in closet. Wall-mounted TV. Detached bathroom with shower/tub, 1 sink & toilet.

* Bunk Bed Room (upstairs) sleeps 4. Writing desk, walk-in closet, mountain views. Skylight en suite bathroom with shower/tub, 1 sink & toilet.

* Queen Bedroom + 1 twin (upstairs) sleeps 2+. Stunning sunrise mountain views. Walk-in closet. Wall-mounted TV. En suite skylight bathroom with shower/tub, 1 sink & toilet.

NO Smoking inside or outside, and NO campfires in the summer of 2012 please (normally guests may use our backyard fire pit/ boma / cowboy cooker ). It has been an unfortunately dry year, and forest fire danger warnings are at an ultimate high point.

About The Owner

We are a young family, married with 2 toddlers. We chose this mountain home in Pagosa Springs in order to be closer to our retired parents (extremely energetic grandparents).

The Owner purchased this house in 2011
Why The Owner chose Pagosa Springs

My husband and I chose our home on the peaceful Timber Ridge Ranch Equestrian Community for our family because of the breathtaking mountain views, the local wildlife, and the proximity to amenities. It's a welcome seasonal respite for our overworked city souls.

What makes this house unique

The skies are blue, and we feel on top of the world here. It's a comfortable place to relax with friends & family. During the days we enjoy hiking local trails, skiing Wolf Creek, snowshoeing, kayaking, soaks in the natural mineral hot springs, dips in the river, exploring waterfalls, fishing, biking, local rodeos & parades, tennis, horseback riding, painting, trips to Santa Fe, jaunts to the (very) local Pagosa Brewery, reading to our young children in the hammock, sunset views from the rocking chairs, enjoying the crackling sound of the log fireplace, cat naps on the upstairs deck, listening to the wind chimes, and cooking for friends & family. Twilight brings a host of wild mule deer, elk, rabbits, hawks, and other wildlife on this ridge; the sky is clear for night time star-gazing or full moon walks up at the Chimney Rock Archaeological Area (can be seen from the porch at sunset).

We hope you'll enjoy all that Southwest Colorado has to offer. You'll definitely want to keep coming back.

Your mountain home is a fantastic get-away! Thank you for a wonderful long weekend. We so enjoyed your home and we're already trying to figure out when we can return. We live in Albuquerque so Pagosa is close and an easy drive. We really appreciated the open floor plan with easy access from the kitchen and living room to the porch and play area. Also, as a mom of three little ones I was so comforted by the gates around the deck--just knowing I could make dinner while the kids were racing around the deck made me feel at ease. Watching the sunset, having a glass of wine with my girlfriend and our husbands while watching the kids play was ideal. We'll be back!!

Quintessential Mountain Home

We'll definitely recommend this stunning holiday rental to our friends and will be returning next year with another family. The mountain sunrise and sunset views truly are breathtaking - many perfect cups of coffee and a beer with my pals in the giant rocking chairs of the porch. It is very peaceful way up here. We witnessed the local wildlife: mule deer, hawks, rabbits, and wild turkey. We also enjoyed the very local brewery after some great fly fishing and day hikes in the San Juans.

This listing does not mention all the extra luxury touches: comfortable mattresses, goose down duvets, stocked library, WiFi, electric kettle & coffee grinder, leather sofas, a guest hammock, a huge wood burning fireplace, Kohler fixtures, and a very quick drive to the grocery shops. These must be the best mountain views around, but the home is not too remote to pick up an extra bottle of wine for dinner.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Adventure Seekers, Girls Getaway, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway
