We have called this apartment The James Joyce after the famous Irish novelist. A recently refurbished apartment that sleeps 6 comfortably ideally situated close to the Phoenix Park and Botanic Gardens.

This apartment has been lovingly restored to a very high degree while retaining a lot of the original features to provide a classic and extremely luxurious stay. This is a luxury apartment with all the comforts of home.

Within easy reach of all the fabulous restaurants, museums, parks, Trinity College and Library, Farmleigh House and of course shopping that Dublin has to offer.

Easy walk to numerous bus stops and train stations that will connect you with the Luas which will connect you with all of Dublin. There are also a number of great restaurants and pubs within a 10 minute walk from the apartment which we can highly recommend. Some of the pubs provide traditional Irish music for your entertainment and are a great night out.

We provide a welcome pack with the basics such as bread and milk etc to get you on your feet. There is a major supermarket within a 5 minute walk so you will never run out of essentials. All mod cons are provided and there is linen and towels freshly laundered for your use. The apartment is in a beautiful large red brick Victorian building on a tree lined street. There is one large bedroom with 2 double beds and in the living room there is a leather pull down sofa that makes another double bed.

There is a fully equipped kitchen and dining area that will cater for 6 and the bathroom is spacious and modern. There is fridge with a small ice box, microwave, dishwasher and washer dryer so that anyone considering an extended stay can enjoy all the comforts of home. A cot can be provided upon request. For anyone considering exploring Ireland further there is a car hire company close by and Heuston Station is approx 15-20 minute walk.

The famous Guinness Storehouse is close at hand as well as the Jameson Distillery both of which run tours regularly and are worth a visit. Dublin is also renowned for it's famous Temple bar area for entertainment which is a bus ride away. For art lovers the Irish Museum of Modern Art is 15 minutes away and the National Museum of Ireland is 10 minutes away.

Trinity College, Kilmainham Gaol, Ryan's Victorian Pub, St. Patricks Cathedral, are just some other of the many wonderful attractions that are available.

I have recently returned to the hospitality industry and ensuring my guests have a comfortable and enjoyable stay in my apartment is a priority for me. I chose this location for the proximity to the city centre and of course the beautiful Victorian Redbrick lined North Circular Road.These properties are a feature of Dublin and are preserved by Dublin Council. The fact that the Phoenix Park and the Botanic gardens are within walking distances is an absolute plus, providing plenty of recreational activity. Numerous pubs, restaurants are within walking distance and I feel that the house provides a sense of character and charm not matched by modern buildings and houses.

There are a number of benefits to staying in this property. Located close to the heart of the city of Dublin there is an excellant transport system by bus and light rail that means all of the sights can be visited with the minimum of fuss. The building itself is a beautiful Victorian property that has unique charm while offering all the modern comforts that a guest could expect.

The location is ideal as it is quiet while being convenient to all shopping, sights, transport, museums etc. that makes a holiday. Located beside the Phoenix park which is Europe's largest urban park the traveller can have a taste of the country while still remaining in the city.

There truly is something for everyone.

If it were possible to give ten stars I would gladly do so! My husband and I rented three units, the Samuel Beckett, the Keats, and the James Joyce for our six daughters, four granddaughters, and three great granddaughters under three. My husband is somewhat limited in mobility and our gracious host Liam made every effort to accommodate him, as well as providing a high chair and cot for the littlest one. The apartments are everything they advertise...spacious, immaculate, comfortable and so very convenient. The city bus stop is just steps away and you can connect to tours and attractions very easily. My only regret is that we can't return every year!

Nous avons passé un très bon moment à Dublin et nous avons beaucoup apprécié votre sens de l'accueil .L'appartement est très confortable et nous pouvons dire que rien ne nous a manqué lors de ce séjour de 5 jours.Le voisinage est très calme et l'appartement bien situé pour prendre les transports en commun vers le centre ville ,de plus ,aucune difficulté pour garer gratuitement la voiture dans la rue. Encore bravo pour la décoration,moderne !Les photos et les descriptions sont réalistes.A RECOMMANDER.

Easy, Economical Stay on the North Side

My family of five (brother, sister-in-law, nephew, and spouse) stayed in the James Joyce for 6 nights on a bucket-list trip to Dublin. The apartment was comfortable and matched the pictures shown. Liam (the apartment owner) was responsive to all email inquiries and the payment process was seamless. We liked staying out of the city center and in a real-to-life Irish neighborhood with pubs, grocery stores, and take-away restaurants within a few minutes walk. We had a few problems at the start but Liam was very responsive and corrected the issue within an hour of our calling. American travelers: Be advised that the apartment does not have a phone; it might be a good idea to have a world plan on your mobile as we were lucky to find someone willing to let us make a call. 5 Stars to the pick-up taxi from and to the Dublin airport. Brendan, our driver, could not have been more accommodating and the price was reasonable. Liam made all the arrangements for us so we never had to think about it. Fresh bread, local butter and jam, and fresh fruit were all provided for our arrival -- and good restaurant information was given for our first Dublin meal. Plan ahead for the weather, please. We're from the Pacific Northwest of the USA so rain didn't bother us; we were, however, unprepared for how the humidity affected the temperature so a relatively clement day (48 - 52 degrees F) was very, very cold.

Excellent stay in this apartment fully equiped and very comfortable. A bit far from the center while walking (40 min) but very nice area close to Phoenix Park.
We had a great stay and would recommend this place.

PERFECT STAY IN DUBLIN

We (family of five) stayed at this apartment over the Thanksgiving holiday and were very happy with out stay. Liam was a great host and answered all of our questions about what to do and see in Ireland. He graciously arranged for a taxi to pick us up from the airport and offered one to take us back to the airport. The apartment is modern and well maintained. It has two comfortable full size beds in the bedroom. Our two boys stayed in the living room which has a pull out couch. We had great wi-fi throughout our stay and the boys enjoyed the nice tv with cable in the living room. The Bathroom has a nice size shower with plenty of hot water and pressure which we enjoyed. The pictures are accurate with the description which is not always the case. The location was perfect for us, away from the busy center of town but within a 10 min bus ride to it. Within 100 meters there are three bus lines that you can take to downtown so we hardly ever waited more than 5 minutes for one. We rented a car for our last two days so we could drive around and found parking right outside the apartment both nights. I would recommend getting out of Dublin and experiencing the rest of Ireland if you have the time. The thing I enjoyed the most was the price! I found this apartment to be a lot cheaper than most when I was searching but still a quality apartment. If you are looking for a clean, modern, comfortable, well equipped, and centrally located apartment in Dublin then this one is a smart choice.

A great place to stay with easy access to the city centre in just 10 minutes by bus. There is a regular bus service that runs right by the front door and there is the light rail system which is a great way to see Dublin in its entirety. A major supermarket is just a few minutes walk so all food requirements can be taken care of easily. The beautiful Phoenix Park is Europe's largest urban park is a 10 minute walk from the apartment and houses Dublin Zoo. This is a must see for any traveller to spend a few hours wandering through the trees and beautiful landscape. Excellant restaurants and pubs some providing traditional Irish music which should be experienced. The Guinness Brewery, Jamestown Distillery, National Gallery Of Ireland, Trinity College, Kilmainham Gaol all worth a visit.
