QUIET GETAWAY NEAR OHIOPYLE AND SEVEN SPRINGS

This cabin could not be in a more picturesque location. The stream at the back of the property is lovely and the walk to the covered bridge and the hike to the waterfall are wonderful. The owner has a fishing pool with some fly lures and we fished and caught some pan fish while we were there. We through them back but the fishing is fun.

The cabin itself is rustic and quaint but inside the furniture, carpet, appliances, linens, windows and walls appear as though they could use some freshening up. A new coat of paint, some new pots and pans, some new towels, new carpeting, and new covers for the old futon and arm chair would go a very long way to making the cabin much better.

There is no TV, internet or cell phone reception in this area or at the cabin so come prepared to relax, kick back, read a good book and take a hike. The DVD and CD player work but you may need to put batteries in the remotes and then fiddle with the tracking (remember DVD machine tracking... I had forgotten but we got it working). There are many DVDs to choose from, some really old but the kids had fun choosing from the pile.

Bring paper towels or your own dish towels and bring pot holders as there are none in the cabin. Plan to bring enough towels for bathing and swimming as there are very few in the cabin. There is no washer, dryer or clothes line so plan accordingly. If you are picky about the types of pots and pans that you use, you may want to bring them with you. The frying pan teflon is gone but luckily we had a cast iron skillet for pancakes and biscuits which saved the day.

We enjoyed our stay at this picturesque place. With a little TLC this cabin would get five stars easily.
