Yanway Cottage is a luxurious, characterful cottage located only 5 mins drive from Windermere. The cottage is very romantic, and has views of the valley from the master bedroom. There is also a log burner for those cosy nights in with a bottle of your favourite wine. The cottage also benefits from having its own private parking space, and a lovely private lawned garden. The lounge is beautifully decorated with seating for 4 people comfortably. The dining kitchen with it's slate floor, is very high spec and is fully equipped with all modern conveniences. The location of the cottage is a favourite with walkers, and has numerous varied walks of all levels right on your doorstep. However, if you are looking for a romantic hideaway, then this cottage will not disappoint you, it is the perfect hideaway for two. Likewise, it is ideally suited to families with having a safe enclosed garden, Price includes the use of free leisure facilities at the swan hotel. Free wifi available from April.

The cottage is only a 5 mins drive from Windermere and 10 mins from Ambleside. It is in a conservation area where the Townsend Historic house owned by the national trust is located, and is open to tourists all year round. There are numerous walks and there is the famous Mortal Man pub, which offers delicious food.

  • Master bedroom has beautiful views of the valley, which can be seen from the double bed, so a great view to wake up to in the morning. The room is light and airy, and has good quality furniture. The bed is a double bed with duck down duvet and pillows and Egyptian cotton bed linen. This room has a large wardrobe, a set of drawers, 2 bedside tables with lamps for reading.

Great little cottage

Just returned from a fab little stay at Yanway Cottage. The cottage is lovely, decor is very tasteful and it's in a stunning location. The cottage had everything we needed and the added extra of a full sky tv package! The parking is a little restrictive but it is manageable, we have a large car and after a few try's were able to get in and out fine. The garden area opposite the cottage is a great sunny spot, unfortunately we didn't have great weather so couldn't make the most of this but would be great for al fresco dining in the summer. The cottage was clean, warm and cosy with very comfortable beds and great views. We ate at both the Mortal Man and the Queens Head, both nice pubs, good food and easily walkable from the cottage. Would have liked to have stayed longer.

A long weekend not long enough

This is wonderful cottage, thoughtfully and beautifully decorated, also well equipped. Really cosy and a great place to spend time. Also in a great location - we came to mountain bike and there are several epic/classic Lakes routes that you can ride from the door; great bonus. We aim to be back!

Location, location,location

This is a cute little cottage located in the most beautiful little village of Troutbeck. We drove over the fells to get there and were besotted before we even arrived. The valley is beautiful and the bridle path in front of the cottage leads, after a 10 minute walk, to the local pub, 'The Mortal Man,' which has good food and a great atmosphere on a Saturday night.

The cottage is small but perfectly formed and was very comfortable and stylish accommodation for myself and a friend with dog. The cottage has been renovated to modern standards but still retains oodles of charm. The owner, Lynne, left good instructions. We met the neighbour who we found perfectly civil and well-mannered. The lane down to the parking place at the cottage is tight but then the pretty narrow lanes are part of the charm of the village.

I would recommend Yanway cottage to anyone who loves beautiful scenery, gentle walks and comfortable & stylish accommodation.

YANWAY COTTAGE - SHORT BREAK

After reading some other reveiws I was quite worried about a couple of things however all of these were totally unfounded. Found the cottage to be clean and had everything we could need. The only one niggle we had was we couldnt get the fire lit. The parking space was quite tight however it was possible to get you car in & out.

Cottage was great location both for taking dog for walks and for driving to nearby Boness on Windermere & Ambleside.

All in had a great weekend & would definitely go back

Another good holiday in The Lakes.....

This is our second time staying in one of Lynn's cottages....again we were not disapointed! The cottage was lovley and had EVERYTHING you could want....(we tried our hardest to find something missing, reading previous reviews in a jokey way) We found Yanway Cottage more rural than Bay tree cottage which was great! the walks were ideal from the doorstep.The standards were excellent! And again as before the communication from Lynn was faultless....we will definatly be back next year....The grumpy neighbour mentioned in other reviews should not let anyone be wary of staying in this beautiful cottage...He hd a moan at us once once and was not see again ! The parking, considering such a rural area is reasonable and a second car can park at the top of the bridal path....so no probs there....Overall a great holiday in a warm and welcoming cottage....worth every penny !!!!!
