  • To make a booking, we require a non refundable deposit of 30% of the tariff agreed. The balance of the payment is required 6 weeks prior to arrival.

Notes: The property is furnished to a high standard and offers a spacious and comfortable living room with a log burning stove. It is equipped with a television, Freeview TV (including cBeebies), DVD player, video recorder and hi-fi, as well as a well-stocked bookshelf with a range of books, DVDs for adults and children, videos, board games and jigsaw puzzles for your enjoyment. The generous kitchen diner offers a fully fitted kitchen equipped with washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, fridge and freezer. A child's highchair is provided. There is a large oval dining table with seating for 6 and a breakfast bar with 2 high bar stools. The private terrace extends the whole way across the front of the property and has a picnic table which seats 6, a bench and a Weber BBQ making it ideal for al fresco dining. It enjoys views over the shared gardens and the naturally spring fed duck pond. The cottage also has its own small garden with a washing line. There is ample parking.

Brilliant holiday home in the South Hams. Very large accomodation, plenty big enough for 7 + cot. Very clean and high standard of fittings. Really good location for exploring this lovely part of Devon. Highly Recommended.

A very well presented house ideal for family and friends with large open plan living areas downstairs. A very cosy living room with a fabulous wood burner for those wet winter nights.
A great setting in the country and yet very close to the sea and local towns.
All in all we had a great stay here.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Kingfisher Cottage..We were very impressed how well equipped it was .
However one or two little things
A non stick saucepan for scrambled eggs and a non stick frying pan would be nice.
Slightly larger Bath towels would be a bonus.
We had a partially disabled lady who stayed behind when we went for walks and it would have been nice to be able to call her..without her having to climb the stairs to the phone as mobiles don't work..
Owner's Response: thanks for your comments I am glad you had a great time. We did have non stick pans but they scratch and don't look good so we went for better quality stainless steel. We will put in a cordless phone which will mean you can take it downstairs.

I am very particular when booking a holiday cottage and spend lots of time surfing the net to ensure I make a good choice. I do this after having expectations dissappointed in holiday cottages that are cold, dusty, have more wildlife inside than outside, with you trying to make do in an under equipped kitchen. I am pleased to say I made the right choice with Kingfisher Cottage. The booking process with the owner was excellent, they were very helpful and the details concerning the cottage were clear. The cottage is spacious, clean and very well equipped. The living room particularly has comfy seating and a good sized t.v. with plenty of channels. We were thinking of travelling in our classic car and were glad we didn't due to the narrow winding lanes to the cottage. I was also aware prior to booking, this cottage accepted pets and found there was a slight dog smell when entering the cottage but this in no way de-tracted from the excellence of the accomodation. Overall an excellent holiday home in a great location for exploring South Hams.

Our stay at Kingfisher cottage was very comfortable. The property had everything we required and more. Situated in a very rural surroundings , but not far from local villages towns and attractions. Mr & Mrs Shenton appear to have thought of every thing . The furniture was of a good standard which made it easy to relax in. The kitchen was well equiped and served us well for the nights we just stayed in and chilled.Log fire with adequate supply of logs. Internet access. Good selection of DVD`s,Videos books and family games .Besides the dedicated front courtyard and side garden the communal gardens provided additional areas to relax in with a charming duck pond in the middle.
We would have no hesitation in recommending this property to any one.
