Ski: Pamporovo is a modern ski resort in the heart of the Rhodope Mountains. It is the most southern skiing resort in Europe and is also the sunniest Bulgarian mountain resort with wonderful snow throughout the whole season. Of the four ski resorts within Bulgaria, Pamporovo is undoubtedly the most 'upmarket' and the resort is situated right on the slopes. The mountain is covered in pine forest, so you ski through beautiful scenery. It also makes just sitting in one of the many mountain cafes and watching people ski past a very pleasant way to spend an hour or two. Pamporovo has an exclusive climate, featuring a mild winter with about 120 sunny days during the skiing period. The skiing season starts from mid December and lasts until mid April. The total length of the ski pistes in the resort now reaches over 31km.
