About Mary Carpenter

We fell in love with Glen Arbor and the Sleeping Bear Bay beachfront on Lake Michigan during our first family vacation in the area in 1995. We purchased a 2 bedroom, 2 bath condo on that vacation and purchased this fabulous, four bedroom beach house in May, 2012.

You'll simply love our Beach House location . . . it truly is the perfect spot: On the beach (Lake Michigan), in the forest and in town (Glen Arbor). Walk down the beach to Blu (The Restaurant & Bar) to watch sunset or walk/ride to town for many options, the National Lakeshore or any one of a hundred 'bucket list' sites in and around the area. Our favorite is the riding The Heritage Trail through the National Lakeshore for a family bike ride . . . or to the Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes for a 'dune climb' and/or picnic.

Pure paradise

My brother's family, and my family stayed in the house for a week with 3 kids each... and it was pure paradise. The house is perfect and clean, loved the set-up with the kitchen in the middle, with the master bedroom plus 1 bedroom on one side of the house, the other two bedrooms on the other - everyone could still have their downtime. We were the very first renters this past summer, we were so lucky to have had the chance to rent it out such last minute. The beach, the water so clear and refreshing, swimming early mornings, late evenings... And the house is just a 5 minute walk to downtown Glen Arbor. So much to do!!! All in all for us, it truly was pure paradise, even with 6 kids under 8. :-)

We had a fabulous weekend stay at this house. It is really charming and very comfortable! The location is perfect for a short walk to town or sitting on the beach with amazing views. We loved it!

What a wonderful hidden treasure! We have been coming to Glen Arbor for a girls get away for a few years now and we have stayed in a different cottage each time. We enjoyed this cottage so much we are planning to book the same place again next year! You are in walking distance of a number of little shops, restaurants, and a grocery store so you do not have to go far to enjoy Glen Arbor. The cottage is also on Lake Michigan. It was as if we had our own personal beach. A gorgeous place to watch the sunset and listen to the waves.

Everything I could have asked for

An incredible beach house. It was everything I was expecting. It is well-furnished and they did a great job of making sure everything we may need that week was at the house. The location doesn't get any better; it was on a private drive and very secluded, yet still. just down the street from downtown. It was a great place to spend the week! the owner was also a pleasure to deal with.

The Perfect Getaway!

We really were blessed to stay at this rental. The house was so beautiful and comfortable for the eight of us. It was beautiful to look out at the water every morning and at dusk for beautiful sunsets. Beautiful Glen Lake was right around the corner for any water sport fans. Played tennis a couple of blocks away. We would rent this house again in the future, gladly!
