AMAZING ATLANTIC BEACHES

Just 25km away is the Costa Verde, a 100km long stretch of excellent, clean beaches from Spain to Porto. You can visit the family seaside resorts of Moledo and Vila Praia de Âncora, the main port town of Viana do Castelo, the charming border village of Caminha. In between, there are surf beaches, sandy, rocky, romantic beaches - you can go to a different one each day to suit your mood. Close to the Villa there are also warm, sheltered river beaches on the River Lima, and in the Serra d'Arga hills there are several hidden spots with waterfalls and crystal clear bathing-pools amongst the rocks.

CULTURE, HISTORY AND NATIONAL PARK

For those who enjoy rural sightseeing there's the rugged countryside of Peneda-Gerês National Park, & further away the World Heritage Douro Valley wine-growing region. The villages and country lanes of Alto Minho, offer a landscape from an earlier era, including some of Iberia’s best-preserved Roman settlements. Serra d’Arga (784m) provides great views in all directions, and the Lagoas Nature Reserve offers a chance to see some wetland wildlife. For more sophisticated entertainment, there's the Casino at Póvoa de Varzim, and plenty of history, culture and night-life in a dozen towns and cities within a short drive - Guimarães, Vila Nova de Cerveira, Caminha, Valença, Tui, Braga, Barcelos, Viana do Castelo and the World Heritage City of Porto. The traditional Romarias (festivals), with their folklore, singing, dancing and decorative crafts and costumes provide a taste of the local culture. And the famed cuisine of the Minho region can be found in restaurants galore.

Stilvolles, großzügiges Haus in wunderbarer Lage

Die Ferienwohnung befindet sich im unteren Teil der Villa. Wir verbrachten hier zu viert eine gute Woche, genossen die sehr stilvoll eingerichteten Räume und die herrliche große Terrasse mit Blick auf die Berge. Das Haus ist sehr sauber und liebevoll für den Empfang hergerichtet, die Eigentümerin sehr nett, die Betreuung rundum perfekt. Bei der Einrichtung fehlte es an nichts. Auch die Lage des Hauses ist ideal, eine halbe Autostunde bis ans Meer und die Städte Braga und Porto sowie der Nationalpark Peneda Geres können in weniger als einer Stunde erreicht werden - ein idealer Platz, um den Norden Portugals kennen zu lernen.

Located close to Ponte de Lima, in northern Portugal, only 40 kilometres from the Spanish (Galician) border, 75km from Porto and 25km from the Atlantic beaches of the Costa Verde. The region is well served by low-cost airlines from Britain and northern Europe, and access is easy from Porto, as well as from Santiago de Compostela and Vigo airports.

Villa Kansha is generously proportioned on a south-facing slope, and the layout includes many distinctive features. The house is stylishly and tastefully decorated and comfort is the key word. Outside, the extensive and completely private garden is mainly laid to lawn, with attractive shrubs and mature trees. It slopes down towards the golf course, facing south, and there is a large patio and covered loggia at ground level, with terraces above.
