About Artha and Roger

This lovely home is owned by British comedy magician Jolly Roger and his American wife, Artha (find out more about him - do a Google search - 'Jolly Roger Magician Arizona').

Artha is originally from the East Coast. A computer programmer by profession, she is startly an online business selling vintage fashion, jewelry, antiques, collectibles and eclectic art and consigning others to do the same.

Roger is in the process of completing his first book, 'The Spiritual Stage.'

Artha and Roger purchased this house in 2011

Why Artha and Roger chose Sedona

We have traveled all over the world and found the beauty, serenity and energy of Sedona to be incomparable. Having looked at several other homes in the area prior to purchasing, we knew this was the one as soon as we stepped into the home. The unique style and positive energy - as well as the ideal location - made this the perfect place for us to share.

What makes this house unique

We also own the home next door and visit from Phoenix at every opportunity! We rarely miss the 'free star show' the universe puts on each night as well as seeing the sun's first light hit the red rocks which are right outside our door! Red Rock parking pass also provided.

Perfect location & great value!

Perfect location & great value!

Thank you so much Artha and Roger for making our first Sedona visit so special! The house is lovely and in a perfect location. Our family of four adults found the space to be great for hanging out after a long day of hiking. We especially appreciated all the amenities you provide (especially the coffee!). The information booklet was very helpful as were all the restaurant menus you provided. Shortly after we arrived our first evening there was a thunderstorm and the view of lightening from the front window was incredible! The outdoor space is remarkable -- we ate at the outdoor table every evening. I highly recommend staying at this house which is a short drive to the heart of Sedona. We found the Village of Oak Creek also nice to explore and hope to return one day. (P.S. Our only travel regret is not staying longer at the house - we left after 4 nights for a 3 night stay at the Grand Canyon...next time we would not stay longer than 1 or 2 nights in Grand Canyon.)

The perfect spot to explore Sedona from!

  • 5 of 5
If you are looking for a comfortable, convenient, affordable and stress-free way to enjoy Sedona, in a private home, then this is for you! Conveniently located in the Village of Oak Creek, about 15 minutes outside of uptown Sedona, it is the perfect spot to use as a home base for your Arizona adventures. Making the arrangements was simple and the house is as well equipped as any we have ever rented. Owners Artha & Roger bend over backwards to make sure that you have everything you need to enjoy your time there. From the condiments in the kitchen to the picnic basket, chairs & blanket to use on your excursions, it is obvious that Roger & Artha really care that you enjoy yourself. Even before you leave home, Artha provides so many great tips to help you decide where to shop, what to do and where to eat. The home, in a residential area just a block or so off the main road to Sedona, is very comfortable. The partial red rock views out the front window beckons you outside to begin your adventures. Start with a nice breakfast on the private outdoor patio & end the day with a toasty fire in the firepit out back. While we were there we took a day trip up to the Grand Canyon (slightly over 2 hours each way) and enjoyed the Broken Arrow pink jeep tour out of Sedona. Took the ride up Oak Creek Canyon and visited many of the red rock vistas so close by. The landscape & views are breathtaking! I can't thank Roger & Artha enough for making our trip to the Sedona area so enjoyable. We can't wait to return & wouldn't think of staying anywhere else!

This charming home is in a quiet neighborhood and is within a short distance to grocery store and restaurants. The owners have stocked the home w/ all the necessities and information for enjoying a vacation to the beautiful area. Artha was helpful and concerned about our safe arrival. We LOVED the place and look forward to returning!

Just like home

  • 5 of 5
This lovely home is so comfortable and has space just where you need it:family room and covered patio. While we took a side trip to the Grand Canyon, we were just as satisfied taking in the local sights:red rocks, Chapel of the Cross, consignment/thrift/outlet stores and an abundance of trails to hike. The owners thoughtfully allow guests to leave kitchen items that make it so much easier to cook without having to run to the store for many spices and condiments.

Family bonding!

  • 5 of 5
What a great place! Artha and Roger are caring host's. They have made this place so comfortable. The location for us was perfect! Sight seeing and hiking by day and family bonding for dinner and evenings. We used the kitchen facilities and grill every night. The out door dining area was a plus for both evening and early morning. Our visit was structured around a family members work schedule and we used this place like a home away from home. We will stay here again when we visit the Sedona area!

Little Gem

  • 5 of 5
Stayed in July 2014 with our two adult sons. Close walking distance to Bell and Courthouse Trails. Red Chopstick just down the street was a wonderful Chinese restaurant. Loved having a full kitchen and an outdoor grill which we used twice. Beds were very comfortable. Great place to come back to after hiking to cool down during the middle of the day and catch the World Cup soccer finals (we're BIG soccer fans). It was great having a washer and dryer to run a couple loads of wash and they even provided the detergent. Wish the lighting over the dining table was brighter for ease of building puzzles or for playing board games (both of which are provided). The Weber IGA in the Village of Oak Creek was easily accessible and has everything you could want to eat. We shopped there multiple times. Very quiet area and very easy access to Sedona just up the road and multiple other hiking trails by car. Great idea to provide a trail parking pass for use by renters which we used numerous times. Artha stopped by to welcome us when we arrived and to let us know we could contact her if we had any problems as they live right next door.
