We fell in love with your vacation home from the pictures and hoped that they were a real depiction of the place. We were not disappointed. The home was lovely and spotless and had everything that you'd ever need to have a wonderful vacation. We had 3 girls who rode the bikes into town every day and played games in the four seasons room on rainy days. We we shopped in Alden and Bellaire and Charlevoix. We went to several good restaurants around the lake. We rented a boat and the girls went tubing and we even got to watch the Tigers on your big screen TV. Everyone was happy because there were so many options. We had all of our meals on the outside deck where we grilled and there was plenty of both sun and shade . Most days there was a nice breeze and, of course, the gorgeous lake to look at. We loved the park like landscaping and the all over beauty and serenity of the place. Everyone gave us a friendly wave as we drove in and out on the street. We ate at Dockside , the Torch Riviera, the Wild Onion , and The Alden Bar. We had giant ice cream cones at the little store in Alden. I also bought a couple of winning lotto tickets there. We replenished our spices from the Spice Mill and bought smoked fresh fish from the smokehouse in Bellaire. The entire week seemed almost magical to us and we would highly reommend it to our friends . We left reluctently with great memories and feeling very relaxed.
Accommodations were wonderful. The place was comfortable and much larger than we expected. Lots of room to relax and it was an easy walk to Alden or to the house being rented by our family members. And the lake was beautiful, even on the one day it rained. Thank you for your hospitality. It was a week we'll never forget!
Just had a small family reunion at this lovely home. The house was just perfect for 3 generations. Plenty of room, the house is well appointed. We ate most of our meals in and found the kitchen was extremely well equipped. Alden is a charming little town and you are within 15 minutes of 6 other little towns with great shops and excellent restaurants. Torch Lake is beautiful, we rented a boat from Fabiano's and would encourage you to explore the lake. It was an awesome 10 days.....if we didn't live 2000 miles away we'd be regular visitors.
A well appointed house with a view of Torch Lake from the deck and 3 of the rooms. The 2 bedrooms downstairs have no windows. Access to the lake and the village of Alden are a short walk away. House has wifi and good TV in the living room. Kitchen is well equipped and a charcoal bbq is available.
We enjoyed our stay very much.
Home was immaculate and had all the space and amenities needed for a fantastic weekend. Patio chairs, grill, bonfire pit, just down the road were sand volley ball courts in a park overlooking the lake. Owners greeted us at property to review everything we needed to know and were a pleasure to meet. Great location- quiet road with friendly neighbors and beautiful view of lake, quick walk into town with public boat dock and cute restaurants.
We had a wonderful stay and recommend this home to anyone headed to Torch Lake. The location is ideal with a view of the lake from the back deck and just a short walk or bike ride to the water for a swim or into town for ice cream and shopping. The owners were very kind and allowed us to use their bikes. We made a day trip to Mackinac Island (hour and 1/2) and also to Traverse City (30 min). We recommend renting a pontoon boat at Fabiano's - nice, new boats. The lake is breathtaking - unlike any I have ever seen. Overall, a comfortable stay with 5 adults and 1 child. The area is nice and safe for children - little to no traffic on private road. Oh, and they had a badminton net and rackets set up in the yard - we played every night as the sun went down:) We will be back!
We have bikes available. Many lake and beach accesses are just minutes away by riding bikes or walking down our lane.
