Welcome to fabled Torch Lake, heralded by National Geographic as one of the most beautiful lakes in the world, “where the rainbow stores its colors” of crystal clear Caribbean aquamarines and sandy bottom. Your vacation hideaway home is idyllic, situated on a slopping green grass bluff with lavish flower beds surrounded on three sides by tall/towering evergreens with expansive views of beautiful Torch Lake. From your elegant and private deck overlooking the private road and lake, drink in the fresh northern air as you sip a morning coffee or perhaps an evening cocktail complete with fabulous lake sunsets.

This modern and private family home has everything you need to make it the perfect home base for any vacation concept. It is spacious and perfect for the multi generational vacation, with something for everyone, even handicap accessible. Just a relaxing five minute stroll to the quaint and picture perfect town of Alden with marvelous shopping, boutiques, dining, tennis and boat launch. Plenty of activities are just a bike ride or walk away; the historic train depot, kids playground and park with lake beaches, hiking trails up Coy Mountain, biking trails on roads or in the woods, river canoeing and many fabulous golf courses including the world class famous Legends, all of it just outside your door. Of course fall and winter brings you opportunities for Michigan’s finest fall color tours, skiing and snowmobiling. Traverse City is a short 25 minutes away for exciting nights on the town, shopping and cultural events, not to mention the gorgeous East and West bays, Lake Michigan and the Old Mission and Leelanau Peninsulas.

The house boasts four bedrooms and three and a half baths.The upper living level houses a great room with high-end home theater and marvelous large window views, separate dining in the three seasons room and on the deck, and a modern kitchen with all the appliances. An office is also present with high speed cable modem. Two master bedrooms are located on this level, each with en-suite facilities and floor to ceiling windows.

Downstairs is a second family area with home theater and large circular dining space served by a dumb waiter, walk out entrance and two of the four bedrooms and bath. It’s a great place for the kids or a second couple to have their own space.

Our neighborhood is quiet and peaceful and therefor not conducive to large or noisy groups or parties. The speed limit on our road is 15 MPH (enforced by neighbors) making it perfect for walking or biking.

We had a wonderful stay and recommend this home to anyone headed to Torch Lake. The location is ideal with a view of the lake from the back deck and just a short walk or bike ride to the water for a swim or into town for ice cream and shopping. The owners were very kind and allowed us to use their bikes. We made a day trip to Mackinac Island (hour and 1/2) and also to Traverse City (30 min). We recommend renting a pontoon boat at Fabiano's - nice, new boats. The lake is breathtaking - unlike any I have ever seen. Overall, a comfortable stay with 5 adults and 1 child. The area is nice and safe for children - little to no traffic on private road. Oh, and they had a badminton net and rackets set up in the yard - we played every night as the sun went down:) We will be back!
Recommended for:  Families with Young Children
