Gata de Gorgos Vacation Rental house

This beautiful property in a stunning location far exceeded our expectations. It was cheaper than other similar properties and we feared it may be inferior in some way, but this was not the case. It was furnished to a really high standard with everything we needed to enjoy a relaxing family holiday, with very comfortable beds and sun loungers, and nice, clean rooms. The pool just below the house was absolutely fantastic, very clean with beautiful views of surrounding countryside and big enough to have a good swim. We were usually the only ones in it-the whole location was very quiet and peaceful, and we loved sitting in the garden enjoying the sunset over the mountains and looking down over the balustrade to the lit pool below. There was a lovely covered and paved terrace area with a big family table where we enjoyed most of our meals. The owners were very helpful and friendly. The only drawback was that the internet service stopped working after a thunder storm, and took a day to be restored-another time we would take our own SIM card. We particulary liked the views from the house and garden-sunrise over Montgo mountain and the sea in the distance, and mountains and orchards all around. Nearby Gata village had some interesting craft and furniture shops and good cafes; it felt very 'Spanish'. We could get down to the village via a well used track down the hillside-a bit steep coming back up! You really need a car to get out and about, but it is a fabulous area to explore with lovely inland and coastal drives and walks. We would thoroughly recommend this property and hope to return ourselves before too long!
