“Eagle View” is a quality, year-round home nestled in the heart of the natural rural beauty of Door County. Tall, stately pines surround the large home. It is a quick walk to the wooded trails in Potawatomi State Park or to Idlewild Golf Course. A drive of just 10 minutes takes you past the Door County Airport into the historic town of Sturgeon Bay with its museums, galleries and famous ship building industry. Austin-Straubel Airport and Lambeau Field are less than an hour drive south. If you head north, the quaint villages of Door County are a short drive.
This unique home has a charming private entrance which leads you up an attractive staircase to the expansive, pleasant upper level. (Our guest’s privacy is completely respected by the owner, who may at times, occupy the lower level.)
“Eagle View” comfortably sleeps eight, however it’s cozy and welcoming for a couple as well. The master bedroom is furnished with attractive woven wicker furniture and a queen size bed. The convenient master bath, with large corner tub and separate shower is located just off the bedroom. Sliding glass doors in the bedroom lead to a sun washed, airy room, furnished with soft, comfy furnishings and antique wicker chairs. This room opens to a large upper level deck. Use the telescope to view a massive Bald Eagle Nest that is located on a tree on a densely wooded bluff above a pond, just across the country road. Relax or sunbathe on the large upper level deck and go quickly from stress to serenity.
The well-equipped galley kitchen is complete with gas range, refrigerator, microwave, and dishwasher. Relax in comfort in the pleasant great room with flat screen TV/DVR and access to the internet. The adjacent dining area is furnished with an antique oak table and bentwood chairs. Just off the living area is yet another large, bright, airy room surrounded in windows with a sliding glass door. It also opens to the deck area where guests may gather, enjoy rural solitude,and watch nature at its best.
Three other bedrooms, tastefully furnished, and a full bath are located off the living area. In one corner bedroom, decorated in restful, pale blue you will find an antique four poster queen bed. The other corner bedroom with soft mauve walls has a double antique bed, a family heirloom. The third bedroom decorated in black, white and gray is accented by a queen brass bed. All bedrooms have a chest of drawers and ample closets.
“Eagle View” is tastefully furnished with an eclectic blend of quality antiques blended with new pieces. Spacious lawns and carefully tended flowers beds surround the home. On the lower level patio, covered with a charming pergola, there is a grill and outdoor eating area for guests.
Visitors have access to the waters of Sawyer Harbor at Potawatomi State Park. During the summer season guests are welcome to use the amenities at our nearby cottage resort Robertson's Cottages. A safe swimming area, paddle boats, bicycles, sail boats and canoes are free for our guests enjoyment. If you have a boat, arrangements can be made to rent a slip. You can arrange a sailing charter which sails daily from Robertson's dock.
The spacious, comfortable accommodations at “Eagle View” are ideal for a family vacation, a girl’s getaway, golfers, kayakers, cross-country skiers, snowmobilers, bicyclists or guests who want peaceful seclusion in a rural setting.
