2300 square foot cedar cabin. Centrally located to access Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, or the Townsend/Cades Cove areas.
My favorite part of our location is that we are close to anything in the area, almost centrally located. But once you leave Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg to head to the cabin, the heavy traffic ceases and you leave that behind for the peace and beauty of the mountains, all in the matter of just 10 minutes. You get the best of both worlds.
We have tried to make this cabin enjoyable for all ages. Kids can play in the game room and the adults enjoy conversation, games, or TV in the den above. Swing, rock, or eat outside on one of the four decks. Read a book on the main deck while swinging or just relaxing and enjoy the quiet of the outdoors.
Cabin has 3 levels, one bedroom/bath each level.
Kitchen/den/dining on main level with master bedroom. Master bedroom has kingsize bed and its own bath, along with a separate Jacuzzi tub.
The lower level has a large Game room with pool table, air hockey, 42 inch TV, video arcade game and darts, with separate bedroom/bath with 2 queen beds. The couch in game room is a sofa sleeper. Off the game room is a private deck and hot tub.
The upper level has a bedroom with queen bed, bath, deck, and extra room with TV and sofa sleeper. We enjoy sitting on the front decks and viewing the other cabins and the lights at night, or sitting on the back decks (or in hottub) and being at peace with nature.
Each level has a deck with the main level having a deck which wraps around two sides and a separate deck off the master bedroom in front. There is also a Jacuzzi in the master bedroom.
The kitchen is fully stocked with anything you could want, glass top range with oven timer if you want to cook while enjoying the area.
At times our children and guests are content to just enjoy the cabin and never do the tourist stuff, and at times they spend all day in nature, shopping, or enjoying Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg.

I am a Mental Health Counselor and my wife is in accounting. We live in Mississippi but both parents live in Tennessee, just on opposite ends of the state. We have three children, two married and on their own, and one just starting college. Our youngest son has 'grown up' with the cabin, while our other two were already finishing high school or in college, so they are just now beginning to experience the cabin with their families.
Brian Galloway purchased this cabin in 2005
One of our parents live in East Tennessee, so we began visiting the Gatlinburg area when we came to see them and fell in love with the area. I especially like Wears Valley because it is close to the bustle of Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg but has the tranquility of the mountains. There seems to be endless diversity to what you can do there. We bought the cabin so we could have a place to come and relax when we wanted to get away for a few days.
The cabin is peaceful and relaxing to me. I have all the luxuries of home (and a few more). Can watch TV, surf the internet, quietly read, or play games. One of the high lights of our year is going to the cabin in late October, early November with two couples who are retired and dear friends of ours. We play cards, decorate for Christmas, and are able to get away from our normal lives.
The cabin is large enough to invite others to come with us, but small enough for just the two of us, if that's what we want.
We started out with 8 going to the mountains and ended up with 12. The cabin slept 12 so we said, OK. Granted, 12 is capacity, but it worked much better than we expected. All the adults had private rooms to sleep in. We shared the three bathrooms, but that was ok. The cabin was clean and it was raining but it was dry and cozy inside. We had plenty of room to work puzzles, play games, eat and work together without bumping into each other. Loved the Cabin and we will return. Five stars!!
cabin was very nice, decorated well, big rooms plenty of space, nice back deck.
My family of 8 booked this cabin for the week of February 13-21 but do to severe weather conditions "Ice & Snow" we had to leave early. This cabin had everything that we needed plus some. We were very pleased with the cabin and the owners. We would love to book this cabin again for our family vacation...
We stayed in this cabin over the New Year. We had 6 people, 3 generations: Grandparents, parents, kids (5 and 8) and Dog. This cabin was perfect. The location couldn't have been better. One day, we are in the clouds and couldn't see much. The next morning, you look out the window to see a valley beneath you full of fog. Gorgeous. I ...er... the kids loved the arcade game. Early 80's classics. Air hockey was fun. The pool table is a little rough, but you can't expect a nice slate table in a rental. A few of the other reviews commented on the cleanliness. This cabin was nice and clean for us. The cleaning crew did a great job.
Decorated for the holidays, this cabin felt homey. Many of the furnishings were things I would've picked for a vacation home. We enjoyed the hot tub, and liked the neighborhood. Overall, this is a great cabin for the price, and we hope to return to this place.
A couple of minor suggestions:
We rent often from VRBO and most places have a guest book and a binder of info. This is where you find out what other people did/experienced while staying there. It's a treasure trove of information, and I'd recommend having that in the future. The binder is normally where you find where extra towels are...how to work the thermostat...hints on working the dish remote...etc. (not that any of these things were hard to do, but FAQs would be nice to have)
Also, the light cover on the main floor bathroom fell off. It had double sided tape in it so it looks like it wasn't the first time. We couldn't get it to stay back on there.
The upstairs Nintendo wouldn't fire up, but we still had plenty of fun on the Arcade.
Is there a way to get Network TV? We were lucky that the games were on Cable, but would've missed them if ABC were carrying them instead of ESPN.
I stayed here with my family after Christmas. The cabin is very nice. We all enjoyed being there and were sorry we had to leave. The beds were firmer than I prefer but my daughter loved them and my husband had no complaints that is just up for personal preference. There were some issues with the front door lock, but the owner was easily reachable and rectified the problem in a timely manner. There were some issues with the game room...the video game didn't operate, the cue sticks all needed tips, and there were no darts. We remedied there problems with a quick trip to Walmart. Except the video game, which although was a bummer, didn't really bother me because the kids brought their own play station games. I would definitely rent this cabin again. We have a great time and thoroughly enjoyed the property.
We loved the cabin. There were 3 couples. Two with small children. The layout was great for us. Everything you could possibly need in the kitchen was there. It was very clean. The Christmas decorations were beautiful. We didn't want to leave and would love to stay there again. The backroads going in to pigeon forge were great. There wasn't much traffic at all on them and it only took about 10 minutes to get there. We have no complaints!
At first the cabin seemed clean and inviting, other then the grass really needed to be cut. As my family began to arrive we all began noticing that the cabin was not very clean, the loft tub had not been cleaned, the walls were slimy, and there were bugs in the tub that had been there awhile, and the ceiling fan did not work. in the kitchen, the counters had not been wiped off, and nor had the stove, it was disgusting!! You could see where the last person cooked something greasy which splattered all over the stove and was not cleaned up, not to mention the " well equipped kitchen" was anything but. The downstairs looked the best until while playing ball with my dog, it went under one of the beds, OMG gross!! Outside the tables on the deck had what looked to be peanut shell crumbs left all over them, and the grill was left filthy too!! For the 1st time (after renting from VRBO fpr 5 years) I was sorry I had not purchased the renter insurance against property not being as stated, plus I was quite annoyed at the cleaning fee I was charged. I did call the owner, but all he said is that he was surprised the cabin was not clean and that he was scheduled to come and do a deep cleaning to the cabin?? Personally I believe he needs a better cleaning person that can be trusted, and possibly to make some unannounced visits to check on the cabins upkeep as well!! My family & I made the best of our vacation (after we all did some cleaning) and needless to say, we will not be returning to this cabin!
In area: caves, Cades Cove, 15 miles from Gatlinburg. 5 miles from Pideon Forge/Sevierville with shows, shopping, and various entertainment. Horseback riding within 5 miles. Much hiking in area. Innertubing 7 miles away in Townsend. Close to the hustle of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg with the peace and quiet of the mountains.
