Hidden away on a quiet and serene street in the heart of Volcano Village, Mountain Cottage is a cozy and beautifully decorated bungalow just minutes from the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. The perfect place for a romantic getaway or an adventuresome duo seeking a quiet retreat after a day of exploring, Mountain Cottage offers the perfect mix of privacy, comfort and ambience. The great location, en suite bathroom, kitchenette and gas fireplace provide the house with all the necessary elements for that home away from home feeling, and the surrounding ohia trees and lush rainforest will enchant you and delight your senses.

Come and experience the beauty and charm of the Volcano area. Spend an afternoon exploring the village and all it's hidden gems by foot, discovering the many wonders of the national park, photographing the indigenous green sea turtles nesting on the picturesque black sand beach at Punalu'u (just a 30 minute drive from the house) or simply curl up next to the fire and spend a few hours getting lost in a book. Cozy, cozy, cozy! We had an amazing time at the Mountain Cottage. After hiking in the park and eating a delicious dinner at the Keawe Kitchen, we headed back to our fire-lit cozy cottage and listened to the thunder break above the rainforest, which surrounds the cottage! In the morning we had an amazing spread of fresh fruit, muffins and coffee. We enjoyed our stay and recommend this place for any couple looking for a romantic and cozy get away!

The "Mountain Cottage" was a really nice room to stay in. It was cozy and clean, but still had space to walk around. Had a sink and microwave as well as plenty of storage! Bathroom and room were clean with views of the rain forest. Owner, James W., was a nice person who provided us with fresh cut Hawaiian papaya and little cupcakes for breakfast the next morning.

This place is great! I wish I could live here. It is perfect and the host even brought me muffins and fruit for breakfast. It is such a cozy place to be when it rains as it does a lot in Volcano. I highly recommend it. You will love your stay here!
