Wine Concierge:
For those interested in wines, our friends at Vignobles and Chateaux offer a wine concierge service and in addition to having of excellent selection of wines and wine paraphernalia, they have a full time wine school with daily wine classes, customized wine tours, introductions to chateaux and for a special event you can have a guided wine dinner in the house with catered dinner for you and your guests to try some carefully selected wines and learn with the very knowledgeable Vignobles and Chateaux staff. Especially for the guests of the Maison des Cordeliers, they offer a 10% discount on wines and classes.
Tennis ,Golf and Swimming:
Several tennis courts are available in the town. Please ask us for the contact details. The area also has many golf courses between 30 minutes and 1.5 hours drive from St. Emilion. There is also a recreational swimming lake 15 minutes from the house which is excellent for children of all ages.
The Basin or Arcachon is 1.5 hours away by car and offers many beaches, an enormous waterpark, and Europe largest sand dune.
More about the house:
The original stone house has been renovated in 2008 and it consists of 5 bedrooms – 3 queen size beds, 2 with two single beds, 4 bathrooms and one powder room, spacious living room, dining room , eat in kitchen and study. Additionally the garage apt. can accomodate 4 more .The garden is open lawn overlooked by a sheltered terrace with barbeque, table, chairs and market umbrella for casual outdoor dining. The dining room has an enormous purpose built table in the 1930’s style which seats 12 very comfortably and the glass cabinet provides you with a wide selection of the appropriate glasses for sampling the local wines. The spacious living room has a fireplace and is arranged for comfortable get togethers as well as curling up with a good book. The study has a desk, TV, multi system DVD player, internet access ( the house has wireless internet access as well) and a comfortable couch for relaxing or watching movies. The laundry room is off the study and has a washer and dryer.
