If you like to fish and/or kayak, then Ivy's Platte River Retreat is your perfect destination! Located in the charming village of Honor, directly on the Platte River, only a few short miles from Lake Michigan. Platte River is known to be one of the best rivers in northern Michigan for canoeing and kayaking as well as for fishing, whether you are fishing for trout, steelhead or salmon. You can fish right from the banks of our private river frontage. It is a great river to swim in as well!
There are a number of wonderful Lake Michigan beaches within 5 - 20 miles, all a part of the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Shoreline. The main Dune Climb of the Sleeping Bear Dunes and the scenic Pierce Stocking Drive are only a 20 mile drive from here. The spectacular Crystal River is only 5 - 10 miles away and the charming towns of Empire and Glen Arbor are only 20 miles away.
Ivy's Platte River Retreat is in walking distance to a nice family park and restaurants and shops in Honor. Honor is also the proud home to the Cherry Bowl Drive-In, a fun and festive drive-in that takes you back to the Fabulous ‘50’s. They show all of the new movies and offer a double feature every night. Plus they have a fantastic concession stand and offer prizes all night for patrons. In addition, they have a playground, mini-golf, volleyball court and plenty of room to throw a football or Frisbee while you are waiting for the movie to start. Great fun for the whole family!!
Ivy's Platte River Retreat is a fairly new home with 2 bedrooms, 2 baths and a loft area that accommodates 6. Queen bed in master bedroom; Two twin beds in second bedroom; Queen sofa bed in living room; Innerspring queen futon in loft.
Other features are: Gas fireplace; Wireless and high speed internet; TV/DVD; Hardwood floors; Washer/Dryer; Ceiling fans. Linens and towels provided. Nonsmoking. Covered, wrap-around porch; Deck furniture; Gas grill; Dock; Two bikes available.
Ivy's Platte River Retreat rents from Friday to Friday in the summer, but is also available for a 3 night minimum stay from April to mid-June and from September to November.
