My family and I recently stayed at the Essex Mountain House for a week and could not have had a better time and will certainly be back. The area was as beautiful as the pictures indicated and more. The property was completely refinished and spacious. The house itself was beautiful, clean and everything we needed was at our disposal. The kitchen was large enough to hold my family (6), and had everything we needed. The beds were as comfortable as we could have hoped. Every detail was addressed. The owners,Tod and Pat, were the best part.They could not have been more friendly as they checked in with us several times to see if anything else was needed. They knew everything about the area, places to go, routes to take and times to go. They pointed out areas to see wildlife, bears, mountain goats, moose etc... I would recommend Essex Mountain House to anyone who is looking to bring their family, or meet friends in Glacier Park. The property was located halfway between East and West Glacier gates which was nice to be able to access both entrances into the park. The historic Isaac Walton Inn was about a half mile away if you are looking for a decent meal, otherwise the kitchen had everything we needed.Hiking and fishing were right outside the front door.
I am already looking forward to visiting Glacier Park next summer, I already know we will be staying at Essex Mountain House. Thank you Tod and Pat, We all had a wonderful time and can't wait to see you again.

Owner's Response: Thank you Erin. Pat and I hope you can make it back next year. We are glad you liked the house and really glad you were able to take advantage of the area and Glacier Park. I'm sure the kids will remember this vacation with all the Park and animals you saw. You may want to consider bring your work group out this winter on the train when the rates are low. Glacier Park and Essex have a totally different look in the winter.
As we talked about when you were here, we can pick you up at the Amtrack platform so you won't need a car for your cross country skiing - although rental cars are available at the hotel. Thanks again for staying at the Essex Mountain House.
