Family sized villa - relax on the terraces with beautiful views of the sea

This villa is one of only 6 sea front Aldeamentos, with stunning views out over the sea. Vale do Lobo is one of the most prestigious resorts in the Algarve, with golf, tennis & beaches Accommodation: superkingsize bedroom, 2 twin bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, fully equipped kitchen, utility room, dining room and living room. French doors open onto the private rear garden, the front has a south facing sun terrace and beautiful flower beds, with fabulous views overlooking the sea. The beach is a two minute walk away. The location is ideal for kids of any age, as the proximity to the beach makes access simple, and the shops, restaurants and bars, are just an easy walk for young and old. Enjoy the sun roof for private sunbathing, and a first floor balcony overlooking the sea. Free WIFI access is provided. Maid service is provided three hours a week, and can be provided every day at a small additional cost. Washing machine, dishwasher, traditional Portugese outdoor BBQ, storage area, drying racks, sun loungers, satellite widescreen plasma TV/DVD. Beach towels can be provided upon request for nominal charge. The nearest supermarket is 5 minutes, with several others a short 10 minute drive away in Almancil. Faro airport is 20 minutes away.

Golf: Golf is a major attraction to this part of the Algarve - and there are two courses available at Vale do Lobo, the Royal and the Ocean. Quinta do Lago, which is 10 minutes drive away, also has several championship courses.

Tennis: The Vale do Lobo tennis centre offers several different surfaces to play on, together with use of their pool, gym and restaurant. The courts are booked on an hourly basis for a fee (upon application). There is also a tennis centre with multiple surfaces available in Quinta do Lago, where games can be arranged, and tournaments played. The Dona filipa hotel also has three courts for rental, and these are a two minute walk away, so very convenient.

Swimming Pool: The pool pictured in front of the villa is privately owned, and use of it is available for a daily or weekly rate upon application. Small children however are free of charge.

Rental requirement: There is a requirement that there must be at least one adult over the age of 25 present at all times during the rental period.

Barringtons Club: Bella Vista had a full year round membership with Barringtons Club - however the club has now been closed, and we have been unable to ascertain when or if it will reopen.

About Chris Ehinger

We are a family with two teenage children, and bought the villa from my parents, so this villa has been in the family for 30 years. We renovated it, and have been renting it out since 2006. Generations of kids have enjoyed holidays here, from babies through to teens, twenty somethings and young adults to older families with grandparents.

We love the peacefulness here, yet there is so much to do. We try to enjoy holidays here three or four times a year, sometimes with the kids, other times just with friends.

We live in Berkshire, England, having moved from the States in 1996.

The proximity to the beach and all the facilites of the Praca - indeed much of Vale do Lobo is walkable from this location. But the special and quite unique view we enjoy from the ground floor terrace ( you don't have to climb up to the roof terrace) is the main attraction of the house.

Fabulous Vacation

My husband and I came for a 50th birthday celebration with friends from around the world. We could not believe the beauty of the entire area and were thrilled with the location and views from this property! We loved having coffee on the terrace overlooking the beautiful sea. Our beds were comfortable; we slept so well with the ocean breeze coming into our room. The villa was well appointed and the decor was lovely. We also own rental property and noticed how well the owner organized everything and all the creature comforts included.
We had great meals in the restaurants below this property and loved that we never needed a car to get around! We rode bikes one day down the coast and my husband and I commented that this area was so much like the Monterey area in California that we love so much! We had massages on the beach, definately recommend! People were so nice.... we can't wait to come back! The Andersons from Fort Worth, Texas

We hated to leave and can’t wait to go back!

My wife and I, along with another couple, thoroughly enjoyed our week’s stay at this warm, charming and comfortable villa, experiencing all the wonderful amenities of the Vale do Lobo resort. To begin with, the Villa has incredibly breathtaking, panoramic views looking south over the Atlantic Ocean. Morning coffees and evening cocktails were so special in this beautiful setting. We loved the beach that’s just below the villa….great sunbathing, swimming, and long shoreline walks. And the pool option was awesome as well, particularly the hour long poolside massage at the end of the day. We enjoyed the great food and relaxing, Mediterranean ambiance of the resort's restaurants. A special treat was being able to watch the World Cup games in a fun-filled open air environment of one of the resort bars. . Finally, we found the Villa was well situated to venture out and explore the surrounding region as well...a wonderful cultural experience. We hated to leave and can’t wait to go back!

Location Location Location?

Let’s start with the good points.
The view from the balcony and the roof is as good as it gets.
The Praca is very handy if you need to be near dining options and pay 2 Euros for a bottle of water or a daily newspaper. Or 9 Euros for a paperback.
The beach is wonderful and is free if you take your own towels, it is also only about a hundred yards if you walk through the Praca.

The restaurants are all good quality and stock the same wines more or less and charge the same for pastas and steak. Only the Indonesian was more expensive. We also tried the Mexican and the Italian and another Pizza type place that was also decent.

A band of some sort (all decent acts) play from 7 until 10 each night in the square to a mainly infant and pushchair dominated audience.. and their parents of course.

Better value, better vibe and a bit less center parcsy we preferred to walk to Julia’s beach bar, head east along the shoreline about 15 minutes walk.

Anyone expecting a decent night’s sleep however is in for a rude and noisy awakening around 4 or 5 am when the bars and nightclubs discharge to the taxi rank.
The general mating, shouting, chanting, screaming and bottle dropping abates by about 6am.

In an ironic twist the bottle banks at The Praca are also routinely collected and emptied at 4am by the Val de Lobo estate recycling wagon.

It’s ok though because you are awake anyway. It just feels and sounds like a car has crashed into the kitchen window.

It’s easy to have some sympathy with the owners over this.

Perhaps this is why they have not renewed their club membership. How does that impact the renter?

The pool which features so prominently in the website photos is off limits unless you buy a weekly pass at 280 euros for a family of 4.
Alternatively you can buy daily entry at 15 Euros for adults and 7.50 euros for under 17s.

There is a 50% discount pass but this is only available to guests of owners who have paid their membership fees.

You are also unable to use any of the resort buses.
The villa is functional but tired and is due a makeover although the downstairs shower room is contemporary and worthy of better villas.
Ants are in residence in the kitchen tramping across the kitchen wall into a cupboard but don’t bother taking them on there are lots of them, as many again the next day.
The double bed is 2 singles pushed together but sleep is not really an option and came home very tired.
Would I return? Only in a stag party

Owner's Response: Happily there were some good points that were enjoyed, the beautiful views! It is a great pity that this family did not enjoy their holiday, but thankfully they are very much in the minority. Clearly they felt aggrieved and had many issues. We tried to speak with them when they returned from Vale do Lobo, which we always do with our guests, but they wouldn't talk to us at all. We obviously cannot be responsible for what Vale do Lobo charge, it is marketed as a high end resort, so we are surprised that this family were not prepared. Many of the shops are private concessions, and the pool is actually privately owned (Breeze) and is never crowded. Paying to use the pool, play golf, or any other activity available in the resort is always an option for guests. There are several inaccuracies in their review, the details of club membership being one. Our website photos show quite clearly what our villa looks like, and in no way are misleading, sorry that this family did not like our home. However we do wish them good luck in making a more suitable selection when they next go on holiday.

Superb Villa in a stunning location

Our family (2 young children and three adults) stayed in this superb villa for total of 9 days in April 2014. I cannot recommend it more highly as it was clean, spacious and in an absolutely fantastic location for us. The rooms are large and all rooms are well appointed in a traditional style. The proximity to all amenities and especially the stunning beach, has to be seen to be believed. On top of this, the communication with the owner was excellent and they ensured our arrival and all our needs were catered for.

Some general points for people considering visiting the area now! The terrain around Vale Do Lobo can be a little restrictive for prams and possibly those in wheelchairs. It didn't affect us massively but it certainly is something that needs to be considered. We would also recommend the short drive to supermarkets in Almancil rather than in Vale Do Lobo as they are cheaper and have a larger range. (The handmade pizzas in Pingo Doce supermarket in Almancil was top notch!). We felt a car was very handy for us, although it could be done without one.

All in all, we had a fantastic time and the villa really was a home from home. We would highly recommend a stay here and we will definitely be coming back.

Wonderful villa, fab views, 2 mins to beach, praca

This was my second at stay at this villa. It was so convenient to everything that I couldn't find anything other villa that would equal. My two daughters in their late teens accompanied me with their friends and the closeness of the villa to the praca at night time, meant that I had peace of mind while they were overjoyed at the convenience. During the day, the lengthy beach was available for long walks at a moments notice and without any need to do anything else except walk out the door as it is so near. This meant that I took advantage several times a day. Similarly, restaurants at night time were equally convenient. I have been to the villa in June and September and considered my stay to have been equally enjoyable on both occasions. Marguerite and Christopher are extremely easy to deal with and ensure that the villa has everything that you will need , ensuring your holiday is carefree. This villa really was perfect and I would highly recommend to anyone.

Perfect October Break

A perfect few days of beautiful October weather at this lovely well equipped villa with its great views over the sea and the sunset. Easy to get to, and a superb location in Val De Lobo. The house has been thoughtfully fitted. We particularly enjoyed walking on the beach, using the Val De Lobo club with its first class spa & facilities & the very good range of restaurants nearby. Sunsets on the balcony were very romantic and spectacular. The ease of use because of proximity of shops etc made it a relaxing holiday. We hope to return!

Vale do Lobo is Portugal's best known and largest golf, tennis and beach resort. In an area of outstanding natural beauty with protected grassy reserves, the beaches are pristine, and stretch for mile upon mile of golden sand with dunes and golden cliffs. A truly year round destination, with three premier golf courses, the Tennis Centre with 14 multi surfaced courts, pool and gym, the Royal Spa and Fitness Centre with indoor pool and gym, Hamman and luxurious beauty treatments, Equestrian centre, biking, and go-karting to name but a few activities. In the summer enjoy waterskiing, windsurfing, parasailing and sailing. There are so many fabulous restaurants, of varying price ranges, that it is impossible to visit them all in one holiday. The villa is only 20 minutes from Faro airport, and within easy reach of several excellent shopping centres, cinemas and waterparks. The local shopping centre (8 minute drive) has everything from local pottery and handicrafts, to international designer name stores. The villa is located in a prime position with wonderful sea views, and is perfect for all ages. A car is not necessary, but recommended as the supermarkets are a short drive away.

We have local management agents, who are easily contactable if you have any questions about the villa, or the local area. They can also provide excellent babysitters if required.

We will take bookings in £ stering or Euros.

Golf: Vale do Lobo, San Lorenzo, Quinto do Lago, Vilamoura - to name but a few of the excellent and championship courses nearby. There is plenty to do for families with children of all ages, or groups of older singles. The nightlife in the Praca includes two nightclubs and there are several restaurants, newagents and shops. The Praca is easily walkable in a very safe area. The large pool in front of the house is open seasonally to all residents. Guests in the villa may purchase daily or weekly admission, children under 7 are free (there is also a kids' pool). Guests cards for the resort can be purchased at the Vale do Lobo reception, and used to obtain discounted entry to all the facilities.
