These cosy apartments are part of a beautifully restored farmhouse. Situated 3 miles from the local town of Lierganes, in the foothills of the mountains, and 25 minutes from the beach, it offers easy access to everywhere. Set in a gorgeous valley, there are breathtaking views from every window.The apartments are very light and spacious and have been tastefully decorated to create a the perfect home from home. Each apartment is fully equipped with brand new kitchens, bathrooms and bedrooms to allow for a comfortable stay. With a huge garden to play in and 5 minutes from an idyllic mountain river - great for swimming and relaxing - it is a perfect destination for families.

This is a modern, spacious apartment that sleeps up to 5 people. There is one double bedroom and a separate area which can be curtained off with a full size double sofa bed. Also we have 'cabin bed' which is perfect for a child. Both the bathroom and the kitchen are brand new, and fully equipped with everything you'll need for your holiday. With a dining table and a cosy sitting area, there is more than enough room for 5 to stay comfortably. Outside you have your own BBQ and table and chairs so you can relax, take in the impressive views and enjoy the garden.

The Casa Blanca is situated 3 miles up the River Miera from the historical spa town of Lierganes. Famous for the fabled 'Hombre de Pez' (fish man); its role in the Spanish Armada, and its beautiful buildings, Lierganes is a bustling lively town all year round. Home to good cheap restaurants, great bars and many small shops it's a perfect place to be situated. If you want to travel further afield there is a direct train line to Santander, a beautiful city with great seafood, and fantastic beaches. Straight from the door are fantastic walks, stunning scenery and the river Miera, perfect for swimming and exploring. It is an ideal spot for cycling and great terrain for mountain biking. Jump in the car, and within half an hour there is an endless possibility of things to do. For families, there are beautiful beaches, an enormous wildlife park, caves to visit, horse riding. And for the more adventurous there is caving, climbing, white water rafting, surfing and even skiing!

Quiet, comfortable and relaxing appartment

We (me, my wife and two teenage daughters) just spent a very relaxing week staying in the ground floor appartment. Nick and Gemma have worked very hard to convert the property and have done a really good job. The appartment we stayed in had great views out over the valley and you could hear the river gently running in the background.

The appartment was well equipped and comfortable for the four of us with some good storage space downstairs for bikes and surfboards.

The location is ideal with Lieganes (a lovely small town) 5 minutes drive (.. or 20 minutes bike ride) away. We cycled up the valley which is spectacular, getting up to San Roque and then beyond up to a pass at 1300m. Lots of lycra cladded cyclists heading for the hills would go past in the morning whizzing back down on the return in the evening.

Looks like some great walking all around the valley although we didn't have time to do any.

Appartment is only 20-25 mins from the Somo beaches which were excellent with some good surf and lovely sand .. other beaches to the West of Santander were easily accessed but took a little longer to get to (45 mins).

Quiet, Unspoilt and Very Comfortable

We spent an all-too-short 2 nights in the loft apartment of this beautifully and lovingly renovated ex-barn, full of warm exposed stone work and timber. Fantastic views over the wooded valley, and the sleepy town of Lierganes was only 5 minutes' drive away. It was ideally placed for the Santander ferry at only 25 minutes' or so drive, and within easy reach of the tourist towns of Comillas (with examples of Gaudi architecture and the Atlantic) and Santilla del Mar (with iits preserved medieval centre). Nick gave us a very warm welcome, and showed us around the other apartments which were stiil work in progress, but with even better views than the loft and traditional South facing wooden balconies. Perfect!
