The apartment is in a great location in the Marina area, near tourist destinations, shopping and restaurants. No views from the apartment, but a short walk brings you to the waterfront and views of the Bay. The apartment is well furnished and in good conditions, though it could do with more dinner forks (just 5) and more practical hand towels (without tassels). Not good for families with small children or the elderly, as it is up two flights of stairs. Wifi does not work in the living room. Entry stairs, back hallway and bedrooms have wall to wall carpeting, not ideal for the allergic. Don't use the kitchen stools, they look nice, but you will probably scratch the paint on the wall and get your deposit docked. Landlord tried to insist on a realtor visit in the middle of the day, which took numerous emails and quoting the lease agreement to dissuade him. We enjoyed our stay (so 4 stars), but for the price paid did not expect the hassles.

For those guests from out of the country, communication sometimes can be difficult, especially if email is the only form. We apologize for any inconvenience and those will always be addressed quickly and we hope to our guests satisfaction. Rarely, we have requests for future guests to view the unit and in those occasions we try to make sure that is done in the least disruptive way possible. Our guests concerns always come first. In response to the barstools at the kitchen counter, there is ample room to sit comfortably and turn without hitting the wall. On this occasion, signifcant chips and dents were caused by kids moving/ turning on the stools, resulting in a $395 repair to a newly renovated kitchen. For what we assumed was generous, only $100 was deducted from the deposit as our guest felt this to be normal "wear and tear" during their stay. This online review was surprising as the written review left in the guestbook in our home was very positive. Our hope always is that our home will be treated with the same care and respect that one would have in their own home. This flat is on the top story which is the desirable unit (as opposed to garden or nanny units); however those that cannot walk two flights of stairs as shown in the VRBO photos should not choose this listing. The foyer, living room, and dining room have maple wood inlay floors with oriental rugs. In the recent renovation, carpeting was placed in the hallway and back bedrooms to reduce noice and of course provide softness and comfort underfoot! Our guests are able to relax a little more also withour worrying about noise that may be transferred to neighbors below in this city living flat. For a discerning traveler, we hope our home fits the bill in terms of location, decor and nearby amenities.
