My siblings and I grew up in the Mendocino Coast, and love to visit as often as we can. We live in different cities throughout California, but our favorite place continues to be Gualala and it's surrounding towns.
-Evelyn & Family
My sister and I graduated from Saint Mary's College of California. I am currently pursuing my PsyD, and my sister is working on her MA.
We have taken some of our friends to Gualala, and they immediately fall in love with this magical place. Some people have never even heard of Gualala! Go ahead and experience this beautiful and peaceful place. You will probably want to keep coming back like we do. Let us help you plan your stay. Bon Voyage! We grew up in Annapolis & Gualala, and enjoy the tranquility of the ocean and small town environment.
Home is nestled among ancient redwood trees with lots of privacy. Relax in the hot tub while gazing at the stars. If you love cooking we have a BBQ, and all the cooking supplies you need to create a delicious meal. Or you can build a fire and watch a movie. The possibilities are endless.
We had a fabulous stay! It was exactly what I expected - A perfectly lovely base to explore the area. Jenny and Evelyn were great hosts - communicative and helpful. The fully equipped kitchen was particularly convenient and we appreciated their recommendations of things to explore in the area. The porch was perfect - so wonderful to relax out there!
I wasn't sure that an overnight would be enough to really relax...but it was. The combination of soaking in the hottub under the redwood trees just before bedtime and then again just before breakfast, and no internet or phone was the rest we needed! The kitchen had all the tools and utensils we needed for a delicious home cooked meal, and the couch was comfy and long enough for my exceptionally tall partner to stretch out on for a nap. My 12 year old loved the reading nook, and our dog loved the yard. We also found a really beautiful beach, I think it's called Cook's beach? a mile or two north of town, and had pretty decent BBQ in town. We will be back, hopefully for a longer stay next time!
We had a wonderful stay and are already looking forward to returning. The cabin is very comfortable with all the modern conveniences plus a well stocked kitchen. It was a real treat to soak in the hot tub while looking at huge redwoods. Nights are very quiet. If you are a walker, the cabin is about one mile from town.
There was mention of the sky light in the bedroom - not a problem as far as we were concerned.
We would even get cell coverage - one or two bars which is more than we got at other places in Gualala.
Overall, two thumbs up from these happy travelers.
The house is perfect for our girls' getaway. The hottub on the deck was so nice and a very relaxing way to stay in the redwoods. Having a kitchen made a huge difference and we enjoyed breakfast and dinner at the house. My only complaint is the pull-out bed. They are not known to be comfortable, but this one is really uncomfortable. It feels like it might give way and I should have just put the mattress on the floor. Otherwise, I recommend this spot for people looking to explore the area.
The house was cute and met our needs in most ways. I especially liked the kitchen; it was very well equipped. The hot tub was superb. Very easy to use. The property was lovely. Unfortunately there was a very musty smell in the bedroom. We had to basically stay out of there except to sleep. The couch in the living room was kind of coming apart. We kept having to fix the cushions because they were continuously sliding off the couch. We absolutely loved Gualala, the little town and most especially the beaches.
Had a fantastic weekend here with friends. There's a nice charcoal grill and the hot tub, while compact, was lovely to have. The kitchen is fully stocked with all the things you would need to cook an elaborate meal and the cabin is quite cozy. The pullout couch isn't the most luxurious, but it's doable for a couple of nights. Gualala is beautiful and you're a short drive from some great scenery and ocean views.
Well equipped cabin for peacefull, relaxing getaway. Enough coastal sightseeing opportunities to match any level of activity desired.
