Custom home in Rockridge area of Oakland.
My twin sons, my husband, and I so enjoyed staying in your house. What a lovely, lovely, comfortable home! Being there with other family members so enhanced our pleasure. The time sped by and I missed just pausing on the deck and absorbing the beauty. What a delight to have a Granny Smith right from your tree! Julie’s Vineyard Zin was a particularly tasty treat—thank you for providing it. We shared it on our last night with our spaghetti dinner. We’ll always treasure our first San Francisco trip in no small measure due to living in your home.
We are retired and love to travel. We are originally from New York area, but love the Bay Area. We appreciate the outdoors, and are active in tennis, skiing, and biking, as well as volunteering in the community.
We have done numerous exchanges over the last 5 years and our guests have been very happy here.
We love our house, and you will too. It is elegant, but comfortable, with excellent access. The backyard is wonderfully peaceful, and is also a great entertaining space.
It's spacious with lots of special touches. There is a Steinway M grand piano in Living Room, big screen TV with surround sound, speakers and stereo in family room with speakers to backyard, stereo speakers into Living room, kitchen, master bedroom. Two fireplaces and wood provided. Our backyard and front gardens are spectacular and peaceful. Computer and high speed internet available. We have both mountain and road bikes available. Also, basketballs, soccer balls, baseballs and bats, frisbees, etc.
Front patio is wonderful for reading newspaper in a.m., back deck has beautiful sunsets, and yard is private, peaceful, and very large for this area. We have great neighbors as well, who are always available. Depending on the season, you will be able to pick tomatoes, chard, apples, figs, lemons, limes, myriad of spices, and of course, a plethora of flowers. Overall, a great combination of city and country living.
Rockridge Area of Oakland offers easy access to SF and wine country. College Ave. shops, restaurants, BART to SF 15 min. walking distance; very close to UC Berkeley walking (2.5 miles) or 5 min. car ride. Custom home area, built in 1990s, but with traditional charm and many different architectural styles.
There are 3 public tennis courts at the end of our street, as well as a large park/field for soccer, softball/baseball. In the nearby hills, there are many hiking/biking trails in places like Tilden Park and Redwood Park.
