The Log Cabin Will Capture Your Heart And Settle Your Mind.

This one room rustic log cabin was built in 1946 and is 640 sq ft. There is a full bed, 2 IKEA twin chair beds and a full sofa futon. Fully equipped kitchen, fireplace and the bath has a roomy claw footed tub.

This cabin is for those that truly want to 'get away from it all', no TV, no phone - sporadic cell service.

The Black Hills National Forest borders the back yard.
About Rita Chapman

Both of us have lived in South Dakota since we were 12 and our daughter has lived here all her life.  We raced bicycles (on and off road) for 10 years before settling in Silver City. Tally has participated in the Race Across America - finishing twice and Rita was an Expert Cross Country National Champion in Mountain Biking. Both of us have numerous state championships in our divisions for both road racing and mountain biking. This history of traveling, racing and hosting other poor cyclists at our home influenced us in our purchase of Tallys' fathers cabin business. It has suited us tremendously, we love to meet people and help them have a memorable vacation.

What makes this cabin unique

There are unlimited activities available in the Black Hills from kayaking, inner tubing down the creek, rock climbing, cross country or downhill skiing, hunting, running, geocaching, fishing, it is up to your imagination. We love being outdoors.  Mountain biking, running and hiking are our favorite activities in Silver City.  Tally is the mountain biking trail expert and Rita has the running trails dialed in. If you are not too fast we may even join you. We have a garden, weeding is always available for those interested. Ask for information anytime.  By the end of July the raspberries are getting ripe and the season continues through 3rd week of August. It is not hard to find a wild patch.

Silver City is a peaceful community located at the end of a 5 mile paved road and is surrounded by the National Forest. Rapid Creek flows past our little town and creates Pactola Lake 1/2 mile downstream. We have fishing, hiking, inner tubing, mountain biking, just outside your door. Centrally located, most Black Hills attractions are within 45 minutes to an hour away. There are no services in Silver City.
