Alberobello Vacation Rental villa

I had a fantastic fortnights holiday here last year with friends and would strongly recommend this villa without any hesitation.
It has lovely, clean accomodation and a surperb pool.
I feel you really need to have a car to get out and about to see all the local towns and for shopping..

I certainly hope to be able to return to 'Il Gelso' for another holiday

Having stayed in this beautiful trullo three times now, I find that the facilities have been improved each time I visit. A sure sign that the owners are interested in providing for their clients needs. The directions to Alberobello from both Bari and Brindisi airports were easy to follow, even at night and the personal guidance from the town to the trullo by Marcella or Anita are a boon. Much more civilised than being handed a key at an agency office and having to find ones own way, often in the dark. In addition, this personal touch allowed a guided tour of the facilities upon arrival, by the owner and provided a known contact for the duration of the holiday.
The cleanliness was without fault, the location and layout were as advertised as were the facilities, all of which were well designed, of a high standard and worked as they should. There was everything that I needed, including that beautiful swimming pool.
Personally, I could have spent a week or two without venturing out of the gate, other than for provisions, however, the local towns were all worth a visit. Each has its "old town" with particular character, shops, museums, restaurants to die for and a weekly market. For wine lovers, amongst whom I count myself, the local co-operatives of Alberobello and Locorotondo are interesting places, offering good local wines at a reasonable price.
Occasionally, I ventured to the sea and between Monopoli and Torre Canne found beautiful, safe and clean sandy and pebble beaches of both the "wild" and managed types. Perfect for an after lunch relaxation. I m going back to "Il Gelso" in 2009, marvelous!
