Cottage, 1 Bedroom + Sleeping Porch, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6)

This charming classic clapboard cottage on the South Arm of beautiful Lake Charlevoix is situated in the heart of Northern Michigan's Water Wonderland. Nestled in the woods and on the lake, this spot is quiet and cozy! This delightful little red gem has a sandy beach for superb swimming and beach fires, a dock for fishing, a screened in sleeping porch, and the great out of doors all around. Also, a bar-b-que is provided.

Sleeps 6. The master bedroom has a queen bed, private bath, two windows that face the lake and a walk-in closet. The sleeping porch, which also faces the lake, has two built-in single beds, ideal for kids or anyone under 6ft. tall. The living room has a queen size hide-a-bed and a queen size futon. The main bathroom is off of the living room and has a shower, along with a washer and dryer.

The family kitchen is large, cheery and well stocked; great for family gatherings, board games or just hanging out.

Other gathering spots include a lovely old fashioned garden with 4 adirondack chairs and an umbrella, a very large shaded lawn, a great sandy beach and of course, the dock!

A great place to relax, read, play, fish, swim, shop, dine in or out and make memories with your family and friends.

About Karen Hadley

Great granddaughter of original owners and granddaughter of original builders. I live near by and am the caretaker along with my brother (who also lives in Charlevoix) and our families.

Karen Hadley purchased this cottage in 1937
Why Karen Hadley chose East Jordan

This cottage is my family heritage andis where my favorite lifetime memories were created. We grew up here during the summers enjoying camp fires, s'mores, swimming, fishing with my mom, waterskiing, reading under the shade trees and just plain being kids. Every day was an adventure! As an adult, I appreciate this unique setting even more. We would like to share this with your so you and your family may create similar memories.

What makes this cottage unique

As you drive down the tree shaded drive, you can spot Mimi's red cottage at the end of the road. You step out of your car and take in a deep breath of fresh lake air. Walk through the garden into the country kitchen and immediately feel right at home. Don't bother to unpack, instead head down the expanse of lawn right to the lake. Walk out to the end of the dock, take another deep breath and RELAX! Your vacation has now begun!

Castle Farms is nearby with activities / shows/weddings every weekend. Strawberry, raspberry picking nearby at Kitely's farm. The Jordan River is great for canoeing and tubing. Lake Charlevoix is wonderful for swimming, fishing, skiing, kayaking, sailing, and most water sports. Petoskey stone hunting is a favorite past-time.

Wonderful stay at this charming cottage. the listing was accurate regarding the location. This is one of the nicest locations on the lake with a beautiful deep water dock and lovely sandy swimming area. The cottage was very clean and filled with many antiques and history. The owners were delightful to work with. Open and available to any questions or concerns. I would recommend this property and my plans are to return on my next visit to East Jordan..

This is one of the most beautiful places on earth. I spent all my early childhood summers in this cottage and highly reccomend the experience :-)

Charming, peaceful, Lake Charlevoix cottage

The listing description is accurate. This is a classic, clean, and comfortable Lake Charlevoix cottage. It is a great getaway for a family of four to unplug and unwind. The owners are very helpful and nice people. Our 11 year old daughter loved the cozy sleeping porch with the built-in twin beds. The beach is sandy, shallow, private, and also has deep water swimming/fishing off the dock. Our favorite spot to relax was in the lovely garden in the red chairs. Downtown Charlevoix is a short drive and Petoskey is a half hour away. Plenty to do and see.
